"well it's not actually a traffic offence so there is nothing that we can do about it"

Erm yes it is!

If there is a plated sign up where the lines are stating the times that you cannot park there i.e. school times, then yes something can be done. Street near us has zig-zags & signs up and theres been a problem with numpties parking dumping there cars in the mornings and afternoons. Quick call to the council & they had their Smart car with CCTV enforcement out & ticketed the buggers.
Failing that PC Plod can ticket for 'Causing un-necessary obstruction'  ;) ;) ;) 8) 8) 8)

Unfortunately when you (ie Me) complained by email about taxi drivers pulling up on the inside lane of a dual carriageway outside a train station despite an empty lay-by a few yards away, their lack of acknowledgement was truly deafening.  :-X

OK ..... not zig-zags, but still causing an obstruction

Thanks for the clarification Jason, I checked for plates and there are none - its only a small village school.  PCSO sometimes attends but she can only offer advise to drivers apparently.

I have a cheap dash cam in my truck works fine, it comes on when i start moving, Have an 8gb card in it which gives me 4 hours before it loops back to the start, To me it's good enough, Cost me approx £28 to £30 with the card.

Any link to the camera  :) Ive been looking for a few days now and still no nearer to getting one ... There is a fair bit to look for , like :

Fps
Night time vision quality
Camera able to capture number plate ect ect . Maybe im being too picky and should just go for the one ive short listed  :-\ There's a lot on egay stating company address in uk but click on company details and are all in china  :( so any problem with the camera will be difficult to return  :-\

Thanks for that rog  ;) Think ill go for a mid range price one . One thing i noted was that if you use say a class 10 card it can cause problems ... so mid range on the class should be recommended  :-\

I considered buying one of these in the link below but decided I would have to do some serious editing before I could use mine as evidence.  ::) ;D
Shoot and foot springs to mind.  ;D

Had a couple of occurances of what I believed where attempts at "cash for crash" so I bought one of these after much deliberation. Budget price, does the job, decent pics if needed.
