Central locking system Deadlocked
« on: 02 December 2016, 20:39:30 »

My 98 2.0 liter 16V Omega started having problems last week with the central locking system. It quit working over the remote, although the blinkers flashed like always .It just didn't lock or unlock over the remote.I started locking it manually with the key or by hand.

Yesterday my wife locked the passenger door by hand and I the drivers door with the key.Went shopping and when we came back I couldnt get the door unlocked. Not with remote or with the key.I used the lock over ride method on the drivers door and got in,but couldn't get any other doors open.Everything is deadlocked.

The lock "sliders" won't budge. Not even on the door that's been overriden.

I was in a few german omega forums about this problem.I found out that there are 3 possible causes.Wiring harness under the drivers floor mat,Microswitch in the drivers door, the control module for the locking system itself,or it's in anti thief mode.

I checked the wiring harness today and all is good.Pulled the drivers door panel off and got the slider to come up.Jimmied the passenger door slider up and got that open.I did some experimenting, and can get them to lock again with the remote ,or with the key. They just go back into deadlock and I have to use override and brute force to them open again.

Is there a simple way around this deadlock delima without having to tear things up?
