2.5 TD Filters

  Hi all, Sorting my garage this week and have come accross these filters left from when I had my TD estate
14 x 90 511 738/93 183 820 oil filters                        £30 the lot
1 x 90 542 604 oil filter                                            £2
3 x 93 183 042 fuel filters                                        £15 the lot

I also have, but dont know why, some oil filters for the 2.0/2.2 DTI engine
5 x 93 185 604                                                      £15 the lot

Pity those oil filters are the wrong number for mine, which for some reason had a non standard one fitted as if for a later engine. My oil filter is 93180093. I have some fuel filters in reserve also.:y

How do I know which of the Oil Filters fits my 2.5TDi ?

There are three differant types and I only have two of them. I did have the part number of the third but not sure where

If it helps (from someone who always got given the wrong filter, even by the dealers) you can easily enough pop the filter out of the TDs, take a photo, and take note which it is, without causing any oil spillage (ie: you don't need to drain the oil first!)

Best way I've always found is to check by eye your old filter vs the new one. Hence I'd always advise keeping an old filter as a useful comparison tool when heading to the motorfactors.
