replacement radio/cd options
« on: 21 May 2015, 23:58:54 »

Im going to replace my cdr2006 as its dead. I have seen some kits with the surrounds and a CD/aux player. They come with all the standard wiring harnesses. Will it be a simple plug and play or do omegas require any additions wiring.

TIA

 :)

If your car has Bose, be prepared to rewire the entire audio system and speakers ;)

Dan ,  I've got a Bose enabled CCR2006 here . It has a broken cartridge flap ( tiny plastic peg has broken & flap won't stay shut)  all works perfectly . Thinking you could swap facias if the open flap bothers you   and it will be cheap  ;) ;)
PM me  if interested

Sorry for jumping on anothers' thread, how do I know if mine is the Bose system?

It's a 2.6 CD, so I would probably think not.

UK, Elites were Bose, some very early Elites had the same as the early CDX's, Phillips Single Din HU with separate Phillips Amp.

Ireland, had some funnies, not all Opel Elites had Bose.

Opel Euroland, some MV6's came with Bose as standard.

:) Whilst I appreciate the comments, it doesn't actually answer the question. Sorry for being an 4r5e, but how can I tell if my car has the Bose system? Where will the amps be? Wiring perhaps?

I'd like to fit a more modern stereo, hence the question.

I don't think I've ever seen a CD with Bose - it should say Bose on the screen at power up if it is  :y

To be quite frank....what difference does Bose make.....both the Elites (2006)say Bose when Ignition switched on. CD does not.....but to be honest, for all I know about it, the CD radio (2005) sounds great !!!!!! ???

Terbs, try a spot of Guns and Roses' November Rain... Start to finish at different volumes from low to full whack, or near as dammit and you'll notice the difference as the volume rises :y
