Agreed almost entirely, Albs, except that it wasn't exactly covert - we all sussed them out!
Go Boris, and get the job done that the woman could not. :y

Magic, isn't it TB? I didn't feel that it was high at all: well, just a bit, and as I said before, SOO quiet.  :) 8) :y

If my car passes its imminent MOT, I would like to do that. Do you have any recommendations/links, please?

Good programme, yes, but the radio restorer was the same idiot who blew the workshop power trips by not making basic safety checks on ancient wiring on a previous item!
Today, in order to provide an HT supply of 90 volts from a no longer available battery, soldered 10 PP3s (9 Volts each) in series. Nothing wrong with that, until the owner wants to repace them. It would have been better to have used the standard press-stud connectors on the PP3s.

What's the climate like, Henry - do they rot away? How old was the youngest that you saw?

My daughter bought me a balloon trip as a birthday present a few years ago - wonderful! I dislike heights and was quite scared (Marks and Spencer scared!), but after several reschedulings, I was used to the fear and was ok with the flight. When airborne, the silence when the burner was off was amazing; mainly all I could hear was the occasional barking dog.

Get one for me as well, please!

They suffer from the dreaded tinworm in the UK; that's what killed mine in the end - plus the fact that a milk float backed into it when I was parked!  :'(

In a previous life, I had a Renault 4, which never needed anything other than routinr services, except for one set of windscreen wiper bushes.
I used to do in excess of 30k miles per year, and because the rear was higher than the front it was almost always going downhill - hence the excellent fuel economy! Front wheel drive and a light body meant that the rear wheels only had to keep the rear end (of the CAR!) off the ground; hence the rear tyres lasted for 80k miles.
Enjoy your frogmobile, Albs - they CAN last.

It was fifty years ago (this Christmas to be accurate) when I got my first guitar and learned to play three chords.
I know four now.  ;D
