At least Boris would be more fun! Who could honestly say anything good about the rest?  ::)

Hi Mr. Blue. My insurers refused to sanction new trims, but in the event, Autoglass sent pattern trims - which did not fit; but my originals were in good condition, so happiness.
However, Autoglass' admin and communications were utter crap, so I am with you on that!

They were both forty-somethings, Steven and Jay. Jay was bald/shaven.
They attempted to fit the supplied pattern trim, but was too wide in the top corners.
I would rather have my original GM trim than poor quality pattern trim, especially as my original trim was in good condition even after 18 years! :)

Despite my trepidation about having Autoglass replace my cracked windscreen, especially after reading the comments in a similar thread earlier, they arrived on time today with a 2-man crew and new rubbers.
Unfortunately, the rubbers were pattern and didn't fit very well, so they re-used my originals, which thankfully were in good condition.
They did an excellent, thoroughly professional job,  even removing the rust revealed under the bottom trim - and primed it too!  :y :y :y 8) :)

They ain't ALL bad.....

No: like all politicians he is blind and deaf to all criticisms and suggestions of failure.  ::)

The much-vaunted Harry Ramsden chain of chippies was a disappointment, and over-priced: at least, the one in Bournemouth was.
If I must go up north, I would choose the chippy in Matlock opposite the park. I cannot remembet its name, but the walls were adorned with Bamforth comic postcards, so you also get a good laugh when you eat!
The Rolls-Royce of chippies has to be Emiles, at the Barbican, just outside Looe in Cornwall - divine!!! :y

Oh, I remember batter scraps from my childhood: sadly, they don't do them any more - due to the Safety Elf, or people being more affluent? :(

And with almost as much arrogance and self-interest?

Over-representation of the etbnics is rife on television too; hardly an advert goes by without the majority of characters being black, and dramas such as EastEnders, Casualty and Holby have very few white actors. Some scenes give the impression of being filmed in another country!

I have a crack in my windscreen, and as a result of reading a previous similar thread on here regarding fitting windscreen rubbers, namely  to use new GENUINE GM rubbers, no adhesive on the bottom run (and elsewhere?) and a two-man crew to do the fitting.
I put all of those requirements initially to my insurers (LV) and then to Autoglass.
What a painful load of ping-pong emails: each put the onus on the other, with Autoglass saying that they would only fit new rubbers of any sort, GM or otherwise, if my insurers would cover the cost and my insurers saying that they did not see it as a safety issue even though my car is 18 years old and on the original screen and rubbers - so would not finance anything other than their normal service.

My Insurance Broker at least attempted to persuade both LV and Autoglass to be co-operative, but they both stubbornly refused. I also complained directly to Autoglass, but simply received standard replies, not proper communication. They even asked me for feedback about how the job went, even though the fitter(s) won't be attending until next Monday!

What are my chances of getting a satisfactory job done and what can I do if I am not satisfied?

Ron.
