If yours is a CCR2006 currently, as long as its the right type* and it comes with the code, its plug and play.

*There are Bose capable CCR2006, which are programmable to non Bose, and then there is the majority which are non Bose only.

He was asking about my ccr2006 when i rip it out , I said I did not know if it would need pairing with the display
or if it needed divorcing from mine
I have the car pass ,radio and ecu codes  :y

when i remove said "radio gram " and stick in something newer , will the display still work ok for trip computer etc ?
(without any stupid warning messages saying the radio has been robbed ?)

If its the right setting for Bose (or non Bose) and has the code, it will work. The security on that unit is purely the code, rather than pairing.

The trip computer programming is all in the display itself, so no issues there.

The bellend dealer fitted a non Bose out of a 2.2 according to the VIN on the carp pass, I have the code that works but when I tried to play CD or tape or even the radio it was hideously distorted and the volume would not respond, so I wonder does that make it non BOSE, how can one tell, any of the labels on the H/U give any clue ?

I believe they're all Philips just in Bose or non Bose format.Possibly easiest way to tell which you have is to look for an amp in the boot?On the saloons it's bolted to the underside of the parcel shelf, don't know where it is on an estate as I've never had one and not particularly looked on the estates I've seen.Willing to be corrected on any of this.

Can’t see an amp anywhere and it didn’t sound like it had one when it was working to be honest

Well that means its non BOSE so mine will work for you, code included on car pass, would take £50 plus postage  :y
