If my memory serves, I'm sure OOF wisdom said that Reinz were the Vx OEM suppliers?

Ron.

As above, they were the only manufacture of the Senator 6 pot gasket. I had a conversation with a local engine rebuild place who couldn't believe the head gasket alone was £60 and he'd get one cheaper. He phoned me back later & admitted that Vx/Reinz was the only gasket available.

...
The only downside was they didn't come with a little valve-stem condom to aid fitting, so I had to make one.

 .....

I've not heard of one  :-\ :-\

I think I've pressed them on using a socket

The BMW ones come with one - it slips over the head of the stem so that the seal can't get caught/nicked by the collet grooves :y I used a little bit of kapton tape instead (and some grease, of course) and they pushed on with finger pressure :y

I'd never seen one before either, apart from in the destructions for the tool I was using (which showed BMW parts boxes) ;D Having one would have shaved at least .. oooh, two minutes off the whole job ;D

Yep, Victor Reinz are the OEM supplier for all the engine seals.  Most of the cam cover seals I've bought from the dealer have had "Victor Reinz" embossed on the half-moon section.

Many engine builders won't use anything else.

Yes I did, BG. Still not fitted yet due to another issue. But as previously said, they look the mutts nuts to me. :)
