Thanks for your reply, I accept the switch is for the mirrors, but I cannot change the drivers side,.   I agree the other switch is for locking the rear mirrors.... It seems there is fault on the drivers side, neither windows can be opened by using the rear door controls. does this need to into a garage to sort out?

You need another switch assembly. If you want to pay a garage to fit it, then that's up to you...

Rear switches are powered from the driver's switch. If the left rear works, it isn't a wiring or safety switch problem.

This is proven by the fact that the windows are fused front and rear, so if the left hand windows work it isn't a fuse and if the fuse hasn't popped, it's unlikely to be a wiring fault ;)
