General Discussion Area / Make the most of what you've got
« on: 12 March 2008, 17:49:03 »Well after yet another downpour, i got to work this morning to find half the unit under water, a reoccuring problem i thought had been solved, but obviously not. A few minutes later i was having a chat with the guy in the unit next door so i brought the subject up and had a good old whinge about it. Ten minutes after that 2 Ambulances and a police car turned up, the poor guy i had been whinging to had collapsed to the floor stone cold dead after suffering a heart attack.
Puts my bit of water into perspective :-/

I don't know what peoples plans are or if they are planning to do more work on the Sunday but i am now flying back out to Tenerife on Suday afternoon, i kindly volunteered Mikedundee to drop me off at Gatwick on his way home and he accepted you are welcome to use the unit for as long as you like if you need to but i won't be there unfortunately.

Hire of a genereator for next weekend is as follows
3.4 kva = 40 quid including my discount and vat
4.0 kva = 56 quid including my discount and vat
I propose we have 2 x 3.4 kva's at 80 quid + the portaloo at 53 quid including vat. If everyone who is coming is willing to pay 4 quid each it will cover the cost of hiring them and i will get them delivered on Friday afternoon and picked up on Monday morning.

Sorry for the delay in sorting some accomodation guys but after having to fly out to Tenerife unexpectedly I have had very little time to sort anything out. I came back at the end of last week but i am still very anxious about the situation out there and have a million and one things to do here, so my visits on here over the next couple of weeks leading up to the party are not going to be very frequent but i will do my best to check places out. I would appreciate a bit of help with this, maybe a few of you could try and find some places to stay off the web and i can check them out as they come in or maybe Tab could help out with saying whats good and whats not as he also lives in Telford. I will check Naughty Nells out before the weekend as i think this is a good place to start. As for staying in the unit itself i am going to have to say that this is a non starter. I understand that going away for a night or two can get expensive especially with fuel costs etc etc and a free nights dossing in the unit would help, but it is on an industrial estate, i have to keep gates locked etc etc. I really don't mind anybody staying there its just all the other things that go with it. Hope you will see where i am coming from on this one.
I really am looking forward to the 23rd, its the first time we have had anywhere undercover big enough for a party and i would love it to be a success and everyone enjoys themselves and i also think by then i am going to be well overdue a large ale session
