Best potion for wheel cleaning.

There was a time when wonder wheels was best. Mildly acidic, and will probably melt modern paints clean off. Horrid stuff.

Looking for a spray on rinse of type job. There a lot of welded on brake dust on the inner rim, even though the outside face is pretty clean after the Kosovans had a go at it.

let me know what you find  ;) My Merc's wheels need a good cleaning .... I suspect that I'll just need a large tub of elbow grease & polish (& a suitable jack to remove them  ;D)

Road grit works a treat...

Seriously. That salt/molasses combo works wonders...
Try a table spoon of salt and one of sugar dissolved in a cup of warm water...
Test on a spare wheel, rinse and Wax/polish to finish :y

Enough water to make a syrup/treacle consistency?

Enough to dissolve the salt and sugar... Brush on as a liquid. Washing the wheel with washing up liguid first to shift the loose stuff then apply the solution as you would wonder wheels :y

I suggest  washing up liquid as it doesn't contain the wax or coating properties of car shampoos...

I believe that washing up liquid contains lots of salt .......... it's to break down the grease from your dishes

Quite possibly :-\ point is, it won't leave a protective layer over any remaining residue after an initial wash :y

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/valet-pro-bilberry-wheel-cleaner/prod_499.html

A lot of the pro valeters seem to use this stuff. Personally I have no idea, the last time I washed my car was 2 years ago when I bought it. Actually I think the dealer washed it. So I guess I have never given it a wash or paid for it to be washed.

I use TFR.
traffic film remover. Removes everything, dirt, grime, bird poo and skin if used undiluted. Then wash with a car shampoo.
or go to lokal car wash and get them to do it.
