father in laws car
« on: 27 August 2014, 20:50:48 »

Due to father in laws heart attack and other mental complications we are looking into what to do with his car.
We dont really want to keep paying road tax for a car thar could be sat there for a long time.
If we sorn it I take it that sorts out the tax what about the mot and insurance do we need to keep up with these.

cheers Paul

If its parked on your drive then sorn it. Cancel insurance and let mot expire. Or if you can sell the car?

If parked on private property then sorn it,m.o.t.can then be left to run out.Insurance can be cancelled or left in place in case something happens to it while it's stood-I believe some insurance companies have policies you can take out to cover car while it's off road.Don't forget though car must be reinsured to be taken for any future m.o.t.
