Windscreen gone
« on: 17 July 2006, 09:19:55 »

Well, the car sat on the drive all weekend, noticed last night the windscreen had 3 big cracks in it!

It was a replacement screen(auto windscreens), had a 'white patch' at the bottom, 2 3rds along where it looked like it hadnt bonded properly (done before we owned the car), the cracks all started from there.

So whats the opinion, heat done it?
as far as we know, noone has touched the car since Friday night when it was last driven.

Booked in at Autoglass this afternoon for a new screen, 'only £60' so not too bad.

I could have been damaged before along the top edge under the rubber, this is what had happened to my estate, the heat made it spread fiarly quickly....

....50 quid for me (insurance excess) by RAC windscreens....done a good job to.

On the Omega you generaly have to replace the side and upper plastic trims which the rubber surround clips into.
