General Discussion Area / Smoking, Drinking and Socializing
« on: 31 August 2012, 13:37:34 »
The world's richest woman has told Australians that they need to smoke, drink and socialize less and work harder.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/9510025/Gina-Rinehart-attacks-jealous-poor.html

Is she right?

If Australia has a welfare system anything like the UK than I suspect that this applies to at least 10% of their working population who prefer not to work and are quite happy with their dole / black market funded lifestyle, who are jealous of anybody with more money than themselves. But, this clearly does not apply to many hard working people, who have s comfortable lifestyles or weathy people with successful businesses they have created through skill, sweat and toil.

General Discussion Area / Joseph Goebbels would be proud
« on: 30 August 2012, 20:34:45 »
I don't know about you lot, but I'm getting very tired of green propaganda written in the form of editorials either for some third party front or as newspaper editorial, or both. In this one they purporting to fix fundamental and fatal problems with windmills.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Once you scratch between the surface two of the three authors are directors of a windmill planning and building company, so as you can see another objective, unbiased article NOT. Joseph Goebbels and Lord Haw Haw I'm sure would be very proud of them and their deceptions.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/energy/9508765/UK-wind-power-predictable-enough-to-keep-lights-on-says-think-tank-IPPR.html

Just an obvious question for the articles authors, how do you predict the peaks, troughs and strength of gusting wind 24 hours in advance? Maybe you use Mystic Meg or Uri Geller as the best UK forecasting service the Met office, would not have a clue. Fantasy and propaganda are fine until they reach the real world of reality.  :o :o :o :o

Unfortunately, as Germany is currently finding out the more wind power you have the greater the volatility and the more difficult it is to get base load capacity on fast enough to cover the troughs. Flickering lights are one thing, industrial machine electronics and computers crashing are quite another. Hence the considerable industry pressure for the completion of 23 coal powered power stations.  :D :D :D :D

You can fool some people some of the time......  ::) ::) ::) ::)

General Discussion Area / Political corruption
« on: 26 August 2012, 20:31:13 »
I thought the last bunch of socialists Government were the worst I had ever known for crony capitalism, nepotism and corruption. But this current bunch of socialists Government are ten times worst. Why is Green, Eco and and massive blatant corruption okay to the BBC and Guardian when if it was defense contracts being issued on this basis they would be screaming for the hills and every rooftop.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/9498568/The-tangled-tale-of-Lord-Deben-and-a-dodgy-Severn-barrage.html

As for John Scummer and Dim Yeo, their heads are deep in the trough along with all of the other bottom feeders.  >:( >:( >:(

This Labour / EU inspired, ConDems embraced energy policy scandal will kill what is left of industry in this country due to energy costs and carbon trading scams. They will move to cheaper climates JLR will end up moving to India? Rolls Royce US/South Korea? leaving this country with a load of useless windmills and tidal barrages with an unemployed, cold, starving population.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

Time to end this lunacy, vote UKIP.

General Discussion Area / Rooney out for a month
« on: 26 August 2012, 00:33:28 »
Rooney will miss the first two world cup qualifiers where he got a deep 4" cut on his thigh playing against Fulham this afternoon.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/9499732/Manchester-United-striker-Wayne-Rooney-ruled-out-for-a-month-with-severely-gashed-thigh-in-defeat-of-Fulham.html

I sure he will be okay and will take it is his stride, where he has had plenty of experience with big ugly gashes.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Do you agree with this?

Or like me do words fail you, where it shows at that is wrong with the UK and total fools who like to play being do-gooders.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

India no longer want overseas aid from us but we are pleading with them to let us keep paying it. :o :o :o Madness  >:( >:( >:(

Daniel Hanan is a eurosceptic MEP, who writes in many newspapers about the short comings of the EU.

He has released a new book on the EU call "A Doomed Marriage" which is being serialized in the Daily Mail. It is very interesting how they manipulate power and how much of our money is given to charities and pressure groups to support EU proposals and vision.

"When he introduced the Bill to ratify the Lisbon Treaty in 2007, the then Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, made a great song and dance that it was backed by a whole range of independent organisations including the NSPCC, One World Action, Action Aid and Oxfam.

Yet every organisation he cited was in receipt of EU subventions. In a single year, Action Aid, the NSPCC, One World Action and Oxfam had among them received €43,051,542 (£33,855,355)."

£34m is hardly small change. So how much are the EU giving to charities including friends of the Earth to promote climate change. Remember this taxpayers money (where our EU net contribution is £50m per DAY) is on top of the £17bn we give to billionaire despots in overseas aid.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2188453/The-case-Europe-MEP-Daniel-Hannan-reveals-disturbing-contempt-democracy-heart-EU.html

Personally I would have thought a better title for the book would have been "Rotten to the core".

Vote UKIP.  :y

General Car Chat / 03 2.5L Diesel Transit problem
« on: 14 August 2012, 23:13:43 »
My daughters partner has this twin cab Transit and went down to Cornwall at the weekend and broke down of the way back.

The problem was a blocked fuel filter. He has replaced this, but by not Googling how to fit it first, he didn't bother to fill it with diesel before fitting. The end result is a fuel line airlock.

From what I read these are a pig to get rid of. He has tried loosening all four pipes to the injectors and turning over the engine, and then tightening as fuel is pumped through but has had no success in starting it.

Any suggestions gratefully received?

Is there also a tank filter to stop pump damage? As lack of fuel flow might be the problem?

Great actor who was always totally believable in the parts he played. He will be missed. I hope he has a happy retirement and Parkinson's Disease does not stop him from enjoying it.

General Discussion Area / Lard arse
« on: 06 August 2012, 23:48:16 »
Silvio-Berlusconi's newspaper il Giornale has a picture of Angela Merkel with her right hand raised with the headline: Fuhrer of the 4th Reich.

Two months ago when Italy knocked out German in the Euro semi-final. The paper had a picture of Merkel watching the match with the headline. 'Ciao, ciao culona' which translates as 'Bye bye lard arse.' (Just the thought of it is likely to give DD a touch of the Vapours).  ;D ;D

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2184447/Italian-newspaper-owned-Silvio-Berlusconi-prints-page-headline-saying-Fourth-Reich-picture-German-chancellor-Angela-Merkel.html

So much for the EU and the Euro bringing European countries together with every closer economies. They have never been so far apart.

So, if Berlusconi wins the next Italian election, you can see him and  Merkel having a good working relation ship, can't you.  :o :o :o

A phone call will be something along the lines of:

It's Silvio here can I speak to Angela.

Who, Silvio the Italian Prime Minister.

Hang on a minute I will see if she if free?

Background wispering: Just get rid of him, I though we had seen the last of that $*&%, when I had him replaced with Monti.

Sorry, she is having a hair done.

How about later? Manicure.

Tomorrow, sorry a finance meeting, well that's what I want to talk her about we could make it a conference call?

Hang on, she said sorry, no chance, you wouldn't understand as it's about getting a country to grow faster and run even bigger surpluses at the expense of the rest of the Eurozone. By that she means ours.

How about Saturday then, Sorry, Angela is having an all day massage.

Silvio, with the size of that butt, she will need an all day....  :-X What did you say? I said, now she's talking my kind of language, we can make it three some. I have my standards, the masseur is ideally under 18 and must understand bunga, bunga to provide all those wonderful special extras.

Angela has agreed, a three some it is, (Silvio is shocked  :o - could this put Italian-German relations in a whole new position!) we will see you at 9am, she has arranged the ideal masseur, only 17, very tall and sexy, who is very, very accommodating and will give you the full works in every department, for plenty of bunga, bunga....

Just ask for Hans.  ;D ;D ;D

I wonder what his and his wife's great intellect and wisdom would have made of the current global depression and the Eurozone?

A couple of links: The first he provides the introduction to a very good and inspiring essy written in 1958 by Leonard Read, called "I pencil". I sure Nickbat and Albs will 'get' the essay, but it might give Opti and Cem a dose of the heebie jeebies.  ;) :P ;D ;D ;D ;D

The second is a list of quotations, which shows he also had a great sense of humour.

General Discussion Area / Fantasy and reality, which wins?
« on: 29 July 2012, 18:24:03 »
Western politicians seem to live in their own King Canute fantasy world, where everything is going swimmingly well until they slam into that big rock called reality. So, then they collectively and continually bang their head against it along with the electorates to make sure they feel the same pain.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

The politicians then run scare stories to make sure the electorate are too scared to do anything but what they are told, while then continue to bang the electorates heads against the rock of reality and give them a right royal rogering for good measure.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

In the Euro zone they tell the electorate that leaving the Euro and defaulting will be a disaster, why? The history of countries that have defaulted and introduced a new currency is one of rapid recovery, a growing economy and a sharp drop in unemployment., so why will historical fact be wrong this time? But the politicians in Spain and Greece, Portugal and Ireland portray that route as if a swivel eyed boogie man will destroy the economy, country, and people. They will all starve where the equivalent of a plague of locusts will destroy all of the crops. Economic logic for the Eurozone's increasingly divergent economies show it is not sustainable, so the Euro long term won't. Euro membership I guess must now be a new fashionable religion.  :o :o :o Meanwhile destroyed economies, businesses, jobs and lives is the result. The electorate are willingly punished while the politicians keep their noses in the trough. Why?

The next new religion which is hurting us badly economically, with the electorate being royally rogered is climate change. This week we are told we are all stuffed as Greenland is melting, NASA satellites prove it. What the climate change high priests didn't tell us (BBC etc), is that the temperature went above freezing for a few hours and then dropped below again so a couple of mm was lost, at most, from the 2 mile depth of ice. We know this occurs about once every 150 years from ice core samples, but no high priest is going to let facts get in the way of a good climate change scare story.  >:( >:( >:( >:(

This week we have had the headlines that there will be a 10% reduction in windmill subsidies, where the Government wanted 25%, but the windmill gods were not happy in such a reduction in their big profits and threatened to build these climate change icons and offerings to the climate change gods elsewhere, so the Government gave in. What was hidden in the report was the last Government's laws to appease the gods of climate change by reducing CO2 emissions by 80% will bankrupt the economy trying to achieve them, so the reality is that Government's are either going to ignore the Climate Change Act or repeal it.  ::) :o :o :o

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/9434114/The-Government-plans-to-break-its-own-climate-change-law.html

We have enough Gas in Lancashire to keep us self sufficient for the next 100 years.  :y :y :y :y Before everybody says CO2, it is estimated that if you represent the earths atmosphere with 10,000 balls, that all man made CO2 would add one-extra CO2 molecule to the 10,000. We are talking about a very small change to a trace element gas where CO2 is 0.0383 % of the atmosphere. Over 99% of the atmosphere is made up of Nitrogen (N2) 78.084% and Oxygen (O2) 20.946%.

Why, oh why, oh why, do we continually put up with all these lies, propaganda and crap, from our high priests Government and the Holy Vee EU in Brussels, which is affecting ALL of our daily lives through our pockets?

General Discussion Area / Sunday Morning - The Full Monty
« on: 29 July 2012, 06:05:24 »
Where I suffer from insomnia, I was still awake and very hungry a 5am this morning.  ::)

So out came the sausages, eggs, mushrooms, baked beans, tinned tomatoes, bread and brown sauce.  :)

Three slices of toast, two fired eggs, four sausages, accompanied by plenty of fried mushrooms, 1/2 a can of beans and tomatoes, and a fried tomato with lashings of brown sauce. Unfortunately no bacon or black pudding to make it a proper full English breakfast, but even so, a good early start to a Sunday morning.  :) :) :)

How have you started your Sunday?
