Widen the pavements WTF

A few times cycling up and down Penrhys Hill and you'll be fit as a butchers dog Rae!  ;D
            You saying I’m not then? ;D

No.... It's just that some butchers dogs are fonder of sausage than others....    :P  ;D
I see the Dorset knob eating contest has had to go online this year. I'll bet you're disappointed  ;D

Anyone else noticed the pavements just are not wide enough to allow social distancing?

How long before the roads are narrowed (for example on housing estates) and the pavements widened. While they are at it cycle lanes could be installed.

Cycles could be developed with some form of assistance - electric is all the rage at the moment, green and all that. In fact you could call them motorcycles. To get the whole family to destination you could add a pod and call it a sidecar. For regions with bad weather the whole thing could be enclosed in metal and perspex and called an automobilecycle. It might be too big for the cycle lanes though and have to go on the empty roads.

                          Widening pavements was mentioned. 👀

I'm happy to go by bike. If all goes to plan I should be taking ownership of a Suzuki Hayabusa in the next month or so. :y

Boris said in March when they imposed the lockdown that it was OK to go out for a bike ride.  So I went out and bought a bike....

A Suzuki DL650 V-Strom, and it's been great fun out on the empty twisty turny country roads round here!   8)  :y  ;D

Electric bikes are already out there and they are pretty good as well.  :y

My neighbour bought a Cube E-Mountain bike and it's an impressive bit of kit.  It has a Bosch electric motor in the crank which gives assistance and 5 speed derailleur gears, so he whizzes up our steep hill!  8)  :y

It's just a distraction ,with public transport not viable ,unless your feeling suicidal  :P
lots of people will be buying cars to get to work,to shopping etc etc

I see HS2 work continues  ::)

Importing millions of pounds worth of crap, poorly made, unreliable ,electric bikes from China (thus boosting their ecconomy) is NOT the solution  >:(

You fall off and don't die :-\

Not that dying would exactly be a preference... But compared to losing a limb or spine...
