i got the "My Naff Code Reader" diagnostic tool today,great piece of kit,but managed to wipe the mileage off the vectra,anyone know how to put it back on,lol ;D

I wouldn't worry about it. You only need it when you sell. So looks like your the proud owner of a Vectra for a very long time ;D ;D Though i think all you need to do is tell the new owner what you've done :)

Can you just do what you did again, but this time give it whatever milage you want?
I 'corrected' SWMBO's Astra by a mile .... to see if I could. ::)  ::)  :y

way hay,got the mileage back on after a lot of playing with the "My Naff Code Reader",great bit of kit when you get to know how to use it,programme keys an remotes with it too :)

Please let this be a warning to all "My Naff Code Reader" owners to stick away from its programming abilities - it tends to make a mess of it.

Particular issues I've come across so far (where people have come to me to see if Tech2 can fix the mess) are key programming, and stereo/display pairing.

In case of key programming, I've been able to recover 2 out of 3 ECUs (the other needed replacement ecu), and fixed 1 out of 2 NCDC/CID setups.


Its a great code reader, and an OK live data reader.  Use it purely for that - anything that writes to ECUs seems too flakey (remember, this is the same company that released the awfully buggy cheapo tech2)
