Meriva door lock
« on: 25 December 2019, 19:21:17 »

One of my step daughters has a 12 plate MkII Meriva she keeps getting the warning that the o/s rear door is open even though clearly it isn't.[they're the suicide door style]she is on a pretty tight budget and a new lock is £85 upwards, second hand locks for the rear doors for some reason don't seem to be available. If it's a micro switch issue would these be available as a separate item? If so where from? and can the lock be separated easily to fit one? Any help appreciated.

Has the car previously been pranged? Could be that the B Post is slightly out of position  :-\

She's had the car for just over a year now and this problem surfaced shortly after he bought it.Before she could get it fixed under the warranty the head gasket let go which took a few months of arguing to get fixed under the warranty but they "fixed" the door warning problem at the same time, this has now obviously returned so while it could be as you say DG I'm inclined to think not.

If it was garage repaired, sling it back to fix it properly ;)
