I would like a bit more detail on that claim about his talent. I believe he is so talented he makes winning look easy.
The only drivers I have seen who could be compared with him on talent were Gilles Villeneuve and Senna.
The wins and championships don't tell the whole story as that isn't just about driving talent. His record on poles speaks volumes though. Qualifying is about driving the car as fast as it or the driver can get around the track, and he has no peers when it comes to qualifying.
Plus he very rarely makes any mistakes in any conditions or circumstances.
And as Ive said before, its well known Schuey and his cars were bent as a nine bob note, so we can never tell how talented he was or wasn't. He simply made no attempt to compete within the rules throughout his career. I can only imagine that he, or those around him had some serious dirt on Max Mosley, to be able to get away with the things they did.
Senna begged the Williams team to protest the Benetton, after he followed it around the track in 94. He said there was no doubt whatsoever it had traction control, which was banned at the time. Unfortunately Williams didn't want to rock the boat, and the rest, as they say, is history.
