Title: ITV debate.
Post by: Olympia5776 on 09 July 2019, 21:35:33
I just watched the two contenders "debate" their credentials for selection to the post of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
I found it utterly cringeworthy with the quality of a secondary high school debating society.
Johnston oozing optimism with no firm facts to suggest how he would deliver our departure from the EU, all conveyed in an almost humerous performance but devoid of projecting any confidence.
Hunt confirming he would deliver the B word but failing to say when and in what manner but displaying , repeatedly, a narcissistic demeanor that I found very irritating.
I couldn't help wonder what the leaders of the free , and not so , world would be thinking as they observed what could only be described as an embarrassing stale bun fight.
God help us all.

That is exactly why I didn't waste time watching it.

The news will be full of the “highlights” .........

Why are they holding these debates? As Albs said, most will have returned their ballot papers by now, and it doesn't matter a jot what the rest of us think. Waste of time and money.

Got to agree that it was a waste of time, and for us, the majority, who cannot vote one way or another, it was meaningless, apart from telling me, a Conservative, that the future around Brexit is more of the same, leading up to a General Election.

Both of them proved they have no new ideas, are as stagnant as the rest of British politics is now, and are not fit for office.  How the few who can vote have decided, apparently, to vote early, with the majority, again apparently, going the Johnson route just shows how lost the cause is.  I will say no more on that as everyone to their own, and I suppose what choice has there been! :-X :-X

Up the revolution, we need one!! :D :D ;)

I would prefer to go for a pint with Boris as Hunt is a sterile humourless character.

However, I think Hunt is more of a 'grown up'  and I would prefer him to become PM.

I think we (Albitz) ::) has to choose between two undistinguished individuals. :-\

Hunts is a remainer. Theresa May in trousers. Some of the people funding his leadership campaign are also funding campaigns to stop Brexit. I couldn't possibly vote for him, so had to vote for the only other option.  ;)

The blonde bombshell, who just might finish off whats left of the Tory party. Although I think Corbyn and his chums may well finish off whats left of the Labour party before that happens.
Any remnants of his image of "a man of principle" completely disappeared yesterday. Either his party will kill him off soon, or he will kill it off.
I really think its possible that both the main parties are going to disintegrate in the near future.
The next general election could be the most interesting one since Thatcher came to power.

Our Ambassador in Washington has now resigned.

According to those who know, Boris failing to give him his support in that rubbish "debate" last night was the final thing that made him believe it was best he resigned.

Well done Boris  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Boris has already started to do damage >:( >:( >:(

Although, I must be fair and recognise the damage had been done and the Ambassador could really do nothing else.  But guffing Boris, an  ex-Foreign Secretary............really!!! :o :o :o
