one for Dnd
« on: 07 April 2016, 19:39:28 »

when i got my Tourer it was still fitted with the original car400 but it was code locked.I had an single slot cd/radio out of a Hyundai so I fitted that and as expected because the display is part of the radio the relevant part of the mfd goes blank when switched on.however the other day i could have sworn the mfd displayed bbc r2 when i started the car (ign logic on) briefly then went blank.I put it down to my imagination but it's done it several times since and on the last occasion it displayed for over 5 seconds.
Didn't think this was possible especially as the top row of connectors on the iso socket is different to the car400 and not connected.

Thats a curious one indeed - I am very familiar with teh Hyundai unit, and was not aware that it had any display output capability.

However, if your MFD is showing Radio 2 albeit briefly, my first question would be what station are you tuned in to? If something different, then I reckon that its a memory retention on the MFD of the last bit of data it had from your CAR400 prior to removal.

Let me know  ???

Will leave it on a different station and keep a lookout.
Cheers John.
