cr 2006
« on: 09 April 2016, 12:56:30 »

the cr 2006 radio has been playing up for a few days now. symptoms are switch on & the sound goes off, although if playing a tape sound goes. then press + on steering wheel & will come on again. though the tape has moved on. it does it in radio mode too. seems to me a sound problem because the tape has progressed. also if it does come on without touching anything it will be turned right up. :-\ :-\. I don't think its a fault with radio. no doubt somebody will enlighten me.  :y

When I bought my car the word Bose used to appear on the screen where radio station etc are displayed, however the cd cartridge wouldn't eject so I replaced it with another 2006 unit but the word Bose has never appeared with this one.Never used tape deck on either unit and never had sound disappear but I do occasionally get the volume turned up full when turning radio on.Could it be a Bose/non Bose compatibility thing?Has your 2006 been replaced at some time in the past as mine has?Just thinking seems fairly similar symptoms, but could be miles out!

If you've fitted a Non Bose HU to an existing Bose setup the effect will be very little minimum volume control before the HU sound level becomes to loud (ie, very little movement in the lower end of the volume control or steering wheel controls).

My belief is some 2006's can be programmed via tech2 to Bose / No Bose Mode, some cannot.

As for the strange effects your having with the HU, my first call would be check the Multi Plug connector is fully home on the back of the HU, and / or unplug the Connector off the HU for a couple of hours then try again. but if it is a Non Bose HU then sooner or later your probably cook the front end input of the Bose Amp.  :-\

Bose enabled were only fitted to 2.5/2.6/3.0 facelift Elites, so a relatively small number compared to the overwhelming production of 2.5/2.6 facelift CDXs ;)

To clarify on the Omega's Bose was only ever fitted to Elites (UK) and some MV6's (Opel Euroland) post 97/98 'ish, so that would include 2.0 (Opel), 2.2Tdi, 2.5TD, V6 2.5/3.0 and 2.6/3.2 (UK and Opel).

Just to confuse the issue some Irish Opels (R'of'I) Elites never got Bose. As for the rest of the World, no idea.

Also worth mentioning that a lot of the CCR2006`s we see in Omegas also originate from Astras and Corsas too - and they all have their own set of programming features too

I ended up buying this ccr2006 from Lithuania via ebay.  can I ask you which part actually is coded, radio or HU or are they paired. I kept the HU off the one I sent to you that was knacked. I was toying with idea of trying that hu. I will pm you to ask about other options.
