Could be top mounts to be fair ...

Well they will be left on untill any play in steering appears ..

Drop links even if only last 12months not worried as only a tenner each

Wishbones if do fail i wont be buying another set.. ive kept original vauxhall ones ill rebuild them up new bushes and ball joints..

Drive dramatically better now all been swapped .. like a new car

nothing wrong with delphi parts. Delphi is a oem brand and reputable. never had issue with their parts. on any of mine or customers cars hence the use of them.

agree with firstline their fit is poor on most things and also dont last long.

Delphi , meyle, mahle, feb bilstein, victor reinz, gates, all major oem supppliers and their parts are up to OEM standards or better.

Omega General Help / Mv6 update suspension

So did a front end overhall other week on my dad old mv6 now mine.

137k and was on original everything facelift model so ran lsc springs and shocks

Fitted new delphi wishbones
New meyle tie rods
New centre tie bar
Delpi drop links
Febi bilstein top mounts
B4 shock
And eibach springs all around (rear springs fitted 6mm spacer cnc machined so rear not to low)

Car sits well

Fitted 4x new dunlop sport max rt2 tyres
And i aligned it

Camber -1.2
Toe -1mm overall

Car drives spot on handles well lot smoother no jigglyness anymore from loose joints and steering a lot more precise

Its made a vast improvement

But i have one little issue

Low speed or stationary sttering wheel movements i get a groaning or clunk type sound. Doesnt do anything driving around at speed or over speeds bumps

Just off centre wheel turns when stationary or if parking car at sub 10mph situations sounds like something loose but checked all my joints since doing it.

Anyone got any ideas.

Its not shocks it top mounts..
Shock are fairly new but didnt comm with mounts so had to reuse old ones which were worn

Irmscher shocks from germany

is 90487540 correct for saloon rear shocks as i need new top bushes for mine

and how much from vauxhall
Assume these are standard shocks and not self levelling? If so have you removed the shocks and checked them? I would imagine that it's more likely that the shocks are shot then the top mount has failed. I'd check them out before you buy anything.

New Boge or Sachs rear shocks usually come complete with original spec top mounting parts. At least they did last time I bought some. Other makes may well include a mounting kit but the components may differ from the originals.

Obviously didn't read first post then ... question was do Carlton / senator ones fit as have no voids so a little stiffer than omega ones

That's all

Got answered they don't so that's fine I'll go std replacements with a poly insert

Indeed wont fix what will happen .. but standard ones last long enuf .. and insert will cost nothing as i make myself so they will be stiffer than std bushes but not as stiff as poly (as vpids will be filled with insert) thus sgopping it tearing as easy and wont increase nvh

Done 9t before on other cars im ok with this thanks.

Not paying 150 for poly mounts

I recommend this shop for wishbones, rear arms and anti roll bars: https://www.strongflex.eu/en/1105-omega

Prices, delivery speed and product quality are all excellent.

nice supply of bushes there plus pedders for rear mounts thats the car sorted

still unsure about rear bush on front wishbone as need to bend so unsure on the strongflex poly one is this instance

I GO with good std replacement and fit poly inserts. (ill make myself ..)

i disagree with poly harness statement.. ive used polys on most of my cars and can always feel the NVH increase slightly . but not a lot.

Std ones replaced will make it better anyways as its on original ones now and done 136k and 14 years old ..
replace again for genuine gm or like quality and should see the car out. but if i make the inserts or compression bushes to compress rubber slightly get slightly stiffer bush in turn and no increase in nvh..

thanks anyways guys.. but yes price of poly rear mounts i doubt ill be buying poly ones.

not after poly bush

just after seeing if senator none void bushes fit omega..

if not ill fit std omega ones and make insert bushes for voids to stiffen standard bushes up

Been queationed before i know

But rear crossmember bushes

Are carlton or senator ones the same ... saw a guide somewhere once saying carlton different

However a lot list same busb for omega senator and carlton

Just asking as seen senator ones have no voids and wilk be alightly stiffer due to this so if will work i will fit these

If not guess std omega bushes be ok and i found these on ebay item 401170164798

Pair cheap if correct for.omega

Omega General Help / Re: V6 cambelt kit
« on: 29 November 2018, 09:28:49 »
Ive found a full kit for 40 quid with adjustable lower wheel

So basically leave roller plate on engine swap with new wheels out of new kit ... then swap lower wheel for the new adjustable type..

Groovy

Gonna get heads of next week i think .. go for nice skim then have ally plates made to take difference up from skim for manifold to fit

Seal them like sealing a decomp plate on to ally head then manifold seal against plate just like it was head ..

Port match heads to manifolds..
Insert cams and do belt and should just be a nice rejuvination
