sometimes when stationary with the engine running smokes can be seen coming from under my front bumper, i know my turbo is leaking a bit of oil on to the exhaust and assumed thats what is was but tonight when i started it and started clearing the snow i could see it pumping out from what looks like the bottom of the air intake, it looked white ish and deffinately smelled of diesel but maybe could of been oil, it was dark so not to sure.
any ideas anyone? cheers

HIYA,
i`ve got an external oil leak on my turbo unit, before i take it off to see proper does anyone have any info on the seals and gaskets and they make a repair kit ?
it may be the oil unions but not been able to see clearly, seems ok on idol but really smells and smoke under the bonnet when on motorway.
any help would be much appreciated

Omega General Help / Re: crankshaft pulley oil seal 2.2dti

update.
fitted new seal and pulley along with new crank bolt
started it up but it just didnt sound right and seeing as the tensioner was a bit tricky to move i reckoned thats where i should start, firstly i ran the engine with the belt off and it sounded fine so replaced belt and tensioner for new ones and now it sounds great well for a diesel!!!!
i`m thinking maybe the crank pulley problem was down to a dodgy tensioner???????

taking up the slack is a big problem with this, i can a quarter turn just doing that, because the pulley as broke in 2 its very difficult to fabricate something,, i`ve bought myself a bit breaker bar and will try tomorrow.

well tried again today and snaped 2 wrenches, one was a torque wrench that i`ve had for years and as never let me down and the other was a T-bar, used a length of scafolding tube on them.
anymore sugestions anyone please?

Sorry; it's not the one big bolt.

There are six bolts that you need to remove (on my 2.5 anyway, not sure if your's is different though)

i`ve just been outside and is does look like just the one bolt and checked the haynes book for the 2.2 dti vectra and it shows one, managed to find a new pulley at under £80 so may go for that

thanks for that,
the rubber broke up allowing the pulley to for off.
reading up on the net it seems common,
ebay have them at over a £120 i think i`d rather get a new one as the same thing may happen to a 2nd hand one.
i`m hoping its just the one big bolt holding it on.
