I have a leak from the rear sunroof, so I though whilst I ain't doing anything I'll have a look. One whole headlining removal later & air bluer than an evening with Bernard Manning  I got the sunroof out.

Which absolute dumb-ass tard designed them things?? Talk about p1$$ poor!!! That and Landrovers not being so generous with the sealant makes for a right cock-up  a tiny little bead that's all but perished. Anyway left it all to dry out overnight and will make a proper job of it tomorrow

Once you get the inside and outside parts of the cassette separated (12 or more screws?) then obviously clean all old sealant etc off and use panel wipe on the surfaces as well as the outer roof skin.

When I done mine I used Wurth rtv sealant in the pressurised can where you can vary bead and delivery speed.   I replaced the outer first then the inner and gradually and evenly tightened the screws as if tightening a head down. Also worth sealing around the corner portions where the drain pieces are 'sealed' at the factory into the lower cassette before its offered up!  And obviously ensuring the drain pipes are clear before putting them back into place.

After both of mine were done it's been as dry as a celibates whatsit ever since and no condensation/foul smell probs since.

Also, would suggest that you do the front one at the same time. Be a shame to have to take the roof lining etc out again to do the front at some future time.....

Oh I will be don't worry, I don't wanna go through all that again, once is bad enough 

Then I'll be water-tight for winter. 

Only got the annoying interior light flicker problem & intermittent non-starting problem which I know may sound strange, but I think are linked somehow

Jason,pop off the roof bars while in there and seals those buggers too,found out they can leak too,cue stripdown number 2

while you are at it, blow the drain tubes out,

in fact do them first, as its usually the lack of drainage that allows water to back up and leak in.

For the non start its prob the starter solenoid. The fuel pressure regulator also leaks and the leakage drips down onto, you guessed it, the starter and solenoid....

Agreed. Mine doesn't have roof bars. Luckily!

When I bought my L322 Range Rover it had a leak into the boot - sealed up the rear crash bar bolts with silicone sealant and dry as a bone ever since - very satisfying when all done

What is the best stuff to use guys sealant wise??

H21 I don't think its the starter solenoid, I think I've got a suspicion I've got either a bad earth or something untoward going on in the fuse box. I'm only saying that due to it being sat for 5 years in a barn & either little biters have been at the wiring somewhere or there's some corrosion somewhere in the electrical terminals. I'm narrowing it down to this because its not just one thing that goes iffy at once, if it doesn't start sometimes, some other electrical circuits won't work i'e. radio / lights or interior light flickers on & off etc.

Not really had the time to look at it indepth yet, just been tinkering with things so I'll just plug on when I get chance as its a 'work in progress' I do like the sound of it though  That's what stops me getting annoyed with it
