Title: Hi I'm new to your forum.
Post by: PETERCARLING on 05 September 2006, 20:46:42
Good evening. My name is Peter. I own an 1996 Omega 2.0 CDX estate which is off the road at the moment.  :(

The heater motor has packed up and I'm having a real problem getting someone over here (Isle of Man) to fix it. To cut a log story short I need a colour coded wiring diagram to give to an autoelectrician so that he can try and fix it. Believe you me the story is a lot more complex than this but I won't bore you with the details. I don't suppose anyone has got one stripped down at the moment and able to take some photographs? Tall order I know.

Any help would be much appreciated

Regards

Peter

Hi Peter, welcome to the forum.

If you can get your hands on a Haynes Manual, the wiring diagrams should be in that.

They sell second hand on e-bay, or Amazon stock them.

Or if Halfords have a branch on the Isle of Man, they also stock them.

Alternatively, a garage that has Autodata should also have the wiring diagrams.

Hello & welcome  :)
When you say the heater motor, do you mean the blower or something else?

Hi and welcome Peter!

We'll probably need a few more details though.

Post in the other section with a bit of the history too.

To be honest, if it's simply the blower that's packed up, any auto electrician should be able to swap that out without a diagram!

Welcome Peter :D

You may want to post your heater problem in the problem area, so it gets seen by more people. Clarify if its the heater blower, and if the car has climate or normal rotorary heater controls (96 cdx, I'm guessing climate).  Also, if your scuttle drain has got blocked at some point, water can destroy the motor speed controller on ECC systems :(
