I've just complained to ECP about an incorrect air filter delivered last June (I know, I just didn't get round to fitting it!), thinking that they would ignore me as it was that long ago, and a lady cdalled Rebecca responded immediately, asking for details of purchase.
I sent the PayPal details, and she aploogised for the error, and promised a replacement as soon as possible.
I had a text message from DHL this morning saying that they will deliver on Monday!
Sorry TB, it must be you? ;)
Ron.

Yes he's "On the list" :D :D ;D

I've found ECP fine if there are no problems. :y
If there is a problem of any description they are worse than useless. :-\

I did.
Ron's experience is different to mine. :)

Most people miss the self flagellation tickbox when making their purchases on the internet. :)
TB never does! ;D

At least euroshite do have people you can talk to. Sister company CP4L don't.
My issue with euroshite is I'm convinced they seem to have a dodgy supply chain, and not everything is as genuine as its supposed to be. This seems to have been a lot better since they were taken over though. Though the Triple QX screenwash is still utter shite... ...that bad that it went down the drains, and if ever I was given triple qx oil, I wouldn't even put it in the lawnmower.
-
I know you hate their screenwash, but why do you think their oil is of poor quality - surely it must meet the appropriate specifications?
Ron.
-
Well, every time I visit the local branch they ask me if I would like to sell them large quantities of old cooking oil. :-\ ;D
-

Ron.
The Triple QX screenwash claimed not to freeze (neat) until -20C or something like that. It certainly wasn't that cold last winter. So why should I believe the label on the oil?

because the temperature will definitely have to drop below -20C for oil to freeze?
-
Yay - correct air filter arrived via DHL today! ECP can get it right, after all..... :y
Ron.

I never had a problem, I've got one just down the road so it's super, super easy to get things. Had a couple of wrong parts, but they've swapped it without issue. :y
No problems for me with QX screen wash, goes in both the bus and the 3.2, normally at least 30% mixture. Does good job, I up it 50% in the winter, 75% with last super cold spell, never frozen.

It's that TB fella.
He's what Mrs Thatcher would have called a 'moaning minnie'...... ;)
-
The screenwash they supplied me was clearly just coloured water, as it didn't go much below freezing last winter, but it still froze. Neat.
Maybe I should have put it into long condoms, and sold them as ice pops :D
Went back to Halfords stuff, about 50p more than the Triple QX stuff, but it works. And you get more sense from the knuckledraggers in Halfords...
-
Went back to Halfords stuff....
I like the fruity stuff they do. :y Wash your windscreen and get a nice whiff of blackcurrant! ;D
-
Ive just run out of that, must get some more. The whiff of it is the only thing swmbo likes about the car. ;D

Does it mask the smell of the chips? ;)
-
1: the fruity stuff is probably good for attracting insects
2: which will stick to your screen
3: you will need to use your screen wash which is fruity smelling
4: see 1
not written in "beginners all-purpose symbolic instruction code " but you get the gist :y

I don't use it in the 190 I use it in the Omega. She doesn't normally travel in the 190, as she smells of chips when she gets out of it. ;D

You certainly know how to give a girl a good time. :)

Yeah. A fish and chip supper (or the smell of one, anyway) without actually having to pay for it. ;D
-
Ive had plenty of moans, but no complaints. :P ;D
-
The Berry stuff does have a unique stink of summer fruits. The Citrus one (the stronger one) is a far less pleasant smell ;D

Today's mong is an ebayer. Bought something from a supposed business well over a week ago, and paid £7 for P&P, courier.
Chased them yesterday, "DPD have not picked it up from pickup point yet". Which to the uninformed means "we can't be arsed to get it ready for pickup, or drop off at pickup point".
Fikkin' mongs, the lot of 'em

Turns out, still "not picked up by DPD". Now my experiences of DPD are they pick up from pickup points daily if their is anything to pick up. So this is really either the seller doesn't have the item, or CBA to package it up (so why list it?)
Refund applied for via eBay's system
-
It's a very annoying situation
lots of sellers don't bother to mark as dispatched ,so your left in limbo,
order another item from a different seller or hope it turns up,
then, end up with 2 ,because you did not want to take the chance ::)
because a £10 item ,if not delivered ,or delivered past your deadline could cost time and money costing hundreds of pounds or massive inconvenience
then there are the sellers who just don't ever send the item
online shopping ,like many things in life is a gamble

Drove to Leicester to pick up something I'd won on eBay, yesterday.
It was as described, complete, functional and they gave me two big boxes full of stuff to go with it.
So I've nothing to complain about, sadly. ;D
-
Aw, so you had to put your Meldrew away, Aaron? :(
Ron.

A bit more polished than my Kaycomp, though. :-\

It was a steal at £41, boxed (Cartoon Classics collection - pretty sure that's the one I had as a kid) and opening the box of games I spotted a boxed copy of my favourite game of the time - Syndicate.
On the hunt for an Atari 2600, now, and perhaps an A1200.. must install more desk space in the office :D
68k was the first kind of assembler I dabbled with..

.. and so it came to pass that Aaronjb spent the winter playing Dig Dug rather than finishing the Cobra. ::)

Yes, it was certainly a lovely machine from a programmer's perspective although it needed a lot of supporting hardware to give its' best.
I lost the will to live when I looked at the x86 after the 68k. :o
I still have a couple of 6809 SBCs kicking around that I built when I was at school. ;D
-
The 2600 is for Louise .. I never had one as a kid, but she has fond memories of playing Space Invaders on one :)
To end the thread drift ;D - if you haven't been to the Museum of Computing History in Cambridge, you really should go.. it's only £8 and (almost) everything is hooked up, working and playable with..
-
Hadn't heard of that one and we have relatives near Cambridge. :y
Need to go to the Bletchley one again some time, too.
-
I think my old A500 is up in the loft... ...ever since I moved 17yrs ago, and I bet it was in the loft of my old house for the 9yrs I lived there.
Wonder if it'll fire up...
Talking of 68000s, I have a couple of QLs here, being a Sinclair boy.

If you didn't have an RTC card fitted, there's a good chance.. don't suppose you're also hoarding a Phillips CM8833 or equivalent Commodore monitor, are you? ;)

I lusted after one of those as a +3 owner (and prior 48K owner) .. I still find them intriguing today, one day I'll have a play on one for old times sake.

No need to wonder if the QLs will fire up, then? ;)
I made the mistake of taking Mrs. KW to a radio rally recently. I was worried that she would put a curb on my collecting junk but she seemed keen to come, so why not? She ended up staggering to the car with an iMac G3, purchased for the princely sum of £10 because it was "funky", apparently. ::) Then she remembered that we were in the MX 5 and I ended up with it on my lap the whole way home. >:(
Still works, mind. The HDD is predictable whiny, though.

The QLs did last time I tried, about 4 or 5yrs ago. Amazingly the keyboard still worked, as did the Psion office package Microdrive cartridge.
The SNES came out about the same time, fully working, and I'm still the billy 'dangle berries' at Super Mario World ;D. I think there is a NES up there.
Defo still got my Speccy with inteface 1 and Microdrive, and interface 2 with Jetpac cartridge :). And a ZX81. Just need an analogue telly now ;D

Can someone wake me up when they finish ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz. :D ;D

I said the same about this Brexit 'dangle berries', but guess it wont happen with the media frenzy. And lies.
-
I feel the same about that too now. Sick and tired hearing people waffle on about it. Just fickin get on with it. ::)

I try very hard not to take any notice, but when Vince Cable comes on talking about a people's vote, I come over all homicidal like. >:(

I have two iMac G4s in the loft (the one with the half-sphere base and LCD monitor on a flappy arm) .. one powers on briefly (I suspect shot caps) and the other is DOA. But they were skip-dived and look cool ;D

Bloody Macs. For girlies and ladyboys only. Did I mention I'm not a fan of mine?
