This might not be the best place or the first place to ask but I'll give it a shot anyway.
Is there something behind this plug? I removed it for some reason when taking the oilpan off and now that I was putting stuff back together, I found a weird looking "piston" on the ground that is hollow and has 4 holes on the sides (90 degrees apart) on the other end while the other end is open. And it definitely fits very well in this whole so I think it must be from it but I can't figure out which way it goes in there and somehow it isn't included in any exploded view or manual I can find for this.
Looking to upgrade the headlights on my Omega, when was the first year that Xenon was available? What would I need other than the headlight units themselves to do this conversion? Or just go with some cheap chinese xenon kit?
Or just go with some +120% bulbs? Are they actually good? I have never tried any myself as they are rather expensive in here atleast.
I got the occasional "no start on first try" fixed with a new fuel pump, looked like it was the original from factory even, just worn out.
Now with the new pump, I get occasional sputter under light load and looking at diagnostics it seems to be running rich everytime this sputter happens. Never had this sputter issue before this new fuel pump. Other than that, it works so much better now and no problems under WOT.
So some faulty injector or the 3bar pressure thingy on the fuel line faulty maybe? I fitted a new fuel filter earlier this summer to try to cure the occasional no start so I dont think the filter could be bad this fast?
Literally, it goes on whenever it feels like and only way to turn it off is by pressing Auto, the button itself doesnt seem to work at all. What could cause this random behavior?
Just put two brand new Bosch O2 sensors on thinking the fault was in them but Im still running lean.. Coilpack is new, crank sensor is new, o2 sensors are new now...
What could cause this? MAF? I have another one but havent tried it yet cause wrong connector.
If you floor it from idle it sputters for a split second.
Is it possible on 97? It is such a pain in the bottom to travel alone with a baby in the backseat because you can't put here up in the front with you, would be much more easier if I could put the child seat in the front of the car. Ofcourse I have my Satellite for that but I would also like my Omega to have the child in the front...
So doable? How? Snippety snap some wires and some resistor to replace the airbag itself?
Had this happen a few times when I go from Park to Reverse that nothing happens before I shift again. Then I got out of reverse while reversing up a hill.
So it sounds like low oil to me but I just checked and filled it recently so I'm not really sure what is causing this.
I floor it, both O2 sensors show rich for about 2 seconds and then the #1 Sensor takes a nosedive and shows almost a straight line for a while until it starts showing up as it should and I think it's definitely down on power. Frickin Bosch O2 sensor are expensive, I could get a pair of these for a price of one Bosch but apparently it was not a good investment...
Unless people here got other ideas for this behavior but I think it's most likely the sensor itself.
I have this weird issue sometimes where I try to start the car but it just turns over, maybe coughs a few times. Then I can stop starting and try again and it starts instantly every time. It doesn't seem to matter how long the first start is, it always starts on the second try.
What might cause this? No fault codes or anything that obvious.
Anyone done this? The 2 pin connectors are pretty easy to make fit regardless of round or square connectors but the 4 pin ones seem a bit more difficult. As far as I'm aware, there is no real difference in the parts except the stupid connector and my current car has square connectors while I have several new Bosch parts laying around with round connectors like coil pack that could be a fix for my stuttering problems...
Ofcourse I'm insane for thinking of this etcetc but I'm more interested in if anyone else has done it.
