Washer Feed pipe joiner
« on: 05 February 2013, 17:52:13 »

I managed to snap the little connector for the washer fluid pipe, that sits in the engine bay. It joins the feed from the pump, with that feed pipe from the scuttle. The one about half way up, near the suspension strut.

I blame -18 temps rather than my temper  ::)

Just need that so I can rejoin the two pipes & dispense with my bodge!  :y

Only pennies from the dealer I'd have thought but I can Post you one out for a Fiver, if needed...

Most are tube ride away though

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CONNECTOR-FOR-4mm-WINDSCREEN-WASHER-PIPE-TUBE-UNIVERSAL-AG1-/280965719338?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item416adca52a

It'd cost as much in fuel &/or parking charges to actually go out & buy one.  :y

Thanks Andy, appreciate it  :y - free delivery too, fuel or tube would cost that alone.

I'm not the only one then  ;D

I learnt that valuable lesson 30yrs or so ago, ie don't try working on anything plastic that goes brittle when cold ...... it'll break! I'd ended up with frozen washer fluid & washer pump on my Manta B & so was trying to speed up the thawing out process  ::) ::). I broke the nipple off the washer pump!  :( Vauxhall wanted what was a fortune for young apprentice so I just glued the pipe to what was left & left it alone. Since then, anything to do with small bore plastic tubing has also included a kettle of hot water to soften it all before hand.  :y :y :y

Right so ordered one now, just got to remove my bodge & feed the tube back to its correct route.

Currently going up the side of the bay near the fuse box  ::)

Might put dab of grease on it to hopefully stop it being such a git next time  :)
