Busted Rear Spring
« on: 04 August 2015, 14:23:31 »

Found annoying rattle is a busted rear spring.

Europarts stock Sachs at £35 each or Boge at £43.(but on back order).

Worth waiting for the Boge or is Sachs a good reco :y

Assuming its not Plod type, best replaced in pairs, have a chat with Steve at Heathrow, see if he's got some for your model from a scraper.

Last pair I had off him where good and cost around £35 for the pair from memory, mention OOF for discount or free postage Andrew.  ;)

Thanks for "heads-up" Chris but with my mileage and need for a single fix would prefer buying new just to be sure .Also need them prompto so dont really want to be waiting for postage etc

Just checked and local Europarts have a pair of Sachs instock so just wanted some feed back on the better quality to opt for  :y

Ok mate, I have no experience with Sachs so can't comment, just make sure there the ones for you model, ie, saloon and or self levelling or not.

Thanks.

OE Self levelling was removed by previous owner when it looks like both shocks and springs were last replaced, probably due to costs.

I will therfore opt for std springs again even though I do have a pair of decent SL shocks in dry storage as I understand STD springs will also work fine with SL shocks when the need arises to replace the shocks.

Thanks ..off to Europarts now with card in hand :(

Check the price online first Andrew, sometimes a lot cheaper to book it than turn up and buy it  :y

look on carparts4less (same people) check out with discount code cp5less (-5 percent) works out around £63 a pair. :y, then go and collect from ECP.  :y

Or bump you order to 75.00, with some other bits you may need and use CP10LESS for 10 percent off.  ;)

Depends if you keep MV6 shocks? Could just to norm all around?

B4 or maybe B6 shocks, with normal springs?
