But yes, if only they had Dettol and 14 day quarantines when they came from Mars :D

H.G.Wells didn't do a musical version with a youtube video though did he  ;D :D

but the original radio broadcast is on youtube clicky

and Dettol would have killed the Germs that killed those pesky Aliens , so not a good idea  :o

staying HIDDEN , or "14 day quarantine" as they call it in modern times may have worked  :)

wishing wells are ornamental water features     ;D

BUT Jeff Wayne did the musical version ,which is quite a good listen, loud ,with headphones, dark room  8)

Ah,I knew Orson Wells did the radio broadcast but wasn't sure who wrote it.Yes I've had the Jeff Wayne double album for I can't remember how long!

As a preventative measure against the Covids, I'm taking Birds Angel Delight. You’d be surprised at how many people are taking it … The frontline workers, many, many are taking it.
