Today I have fitted new steering ends.

Unfortunately I had to do it on my drive.  But my ball joint splitter still works after 30 years (I thought I'd lost it as I hadn't had to use it for 15 years)

When complete I took a chance and drove to the industrial estate and got the last appointment for the laser alignment.  £29 quid to get the toe in/out right.

Result?

1) Less pulling to the left on braking*- the left joint was breaked.
2) Vibration on brakes? GONE.... I assume because the tyre isn't having to fight with the road.

*There's still a VERY slight pull to left. But MOT due in a couple of weeks, and I've promised the MV6 a new cam belt and I might get them to throw the new wishbones on at the same time.

Removed the radiator drain plug on the daily as it weeps when the car is cooling down, unfortunately only halve the plug came out. Tried to seal the remaining bit and screw it back in but pissing out as it cools down again.

Sure I have a spare used radiator in the shed at my dad's so you can guess next weekends job.  :D

And the spare used radiator.... Weeps..... There's a few hours of my life I won't get back. I do have a brand new pattern radiator as well but it's not got the mounts for the external oil cooler do I fit / bodge it or do I spend yet more money on this car and buy another one?

Mounting points should all be present, but you will certainly need to swap the hardware over ;)

No they're not, otherwise I would have done that! However the very last Genuine GM replacement radiators have them as well as the internal oil cooler...  must have been simpler that way, shame the pattern ones aren't the same.

I have a 3.0L auto rad on my3.2, junked the ext-cooler and used the internal cooler on the rad, but I did have all the 3.0L pipes too.

If you aren't going to tow pikey wagons etc. with it, just ditch the cooler.

Investigated one of the many strange noises coming from the 190. It seems it was a heat shield vibrating against the exhaust.

Drove an Omega for the first time in years yesterday! Spent the day going over it. It’s the marked police one, not been used for years!
I took precautions before starting, but it doesn’t sound right! Cam sensor code, slight top end knock and won’t rev past 4K rpm. Tomorrow will be spent working out what’s going on  ;D
