See all that fuss...  :D

Now all you need to do is fix the broken bits ;)
Nope, as it has to go. Sadly. Its replacement is going to be inferior, seeing as there is sod all out there thats as good overall.

Seat Toledo diesel and run it into the ground. Ask nicely and you will almost get a new one in budget ;)

If you get one of those make certain you have a code reader my mate & his son both have one & they are forever going into limp mode a thorough pain in the arse.

When did you last see one?

Everybody just buys the Skoda equivalent. I certainly would; my Aunt's petrol Rapid is a car I could quite happily buy. I would prefer the Fabia estate, but it's a lot more money for some reason.

I should confess that I had to Google which car the Toledo actually is....

Guy I sit next to at work has a Fabia Estate (Scout, I think they call it?).  Its a bit crap, but returns good MPG - or did until VAG had to modify it following the emissions lies - and he likes it...   ...but then his previous car was a Zafira-A diesel ;D

There's no way I'd buy a diesel.

And I'd take a long hard look at an I30 for the same money.

Any of these would be base models without options, as I'm not adding £2k to the price for stuff I never use - fancier radios, connectivity, bigger wheels, £500 for a colour change(which is really, really taking the piss), heated steering wheel, etc etc. The only reason to buy a car with all that stuff is when it's several years old, 1/4 of the original purchase price, and £50 more than an equivalent base car. Climate control and heated front screen are about the only things that are worth me buying

It's transport and will help to appreciate the 'shortcomings' of a newer/nicer Omega replacement...

The Zafira is transport and makes you appreciate some minor level of comfort/handling/performance.  We drive that regular enough not to need reminding.

now there's a man making car choices based on Marina ownership ;D

Kevin: the ghastly piece of junk is now into its 3000 iteration of bean tins! You can do so much better  than a Toledo, which was just a different brand of hair shirt.

Finally Tesco + my Credit Card have got their act together, and the last fillup can be calculated....

24.7mpg.  Oops.  Fuel computer read 29.9mpg, but we know Jag fuel computers are as honest as a cheap watch.

(I keep forgetting that that specific pump always gives the wrong receipt when I filled up, hence had to wait for payment to appear on my account)
