Not being able to fill it in Brakkers yesterday (Tesco station shut for refurb, and that's caused BP to run out of fuel, oppswits), I thought I'd call into Bicester on the way to Surrey today. Only I did my usual thing, and completely forgot it needed fuel, until I'd past Bicester.  So, 70mph all the way to Oxford, where it was filled with Asda's finest ;D

As usual, gave it a proper spanking coming home.

Nah, was only Guildford and back, probably 170 miles?  That think, not matter how you drive it, always does around 35-42mpg...

And it probably wont get used again for months ;D.

Cant remember where I am Thursday - somewhere inside the M25. If its central, I'll use TBE as its ULEZ exempt. If its outside, it'll be the pussy.

As it was such a beautiful day I took the 960 for a couple of hours drive.Didn't go anywhere particular, just took turnings on a whim.Didn't stop anywhere and didn't get out of the car from start to finish.Just went for the joy of driving it.

Near Brent Cross, so the Black Pussy had a gentle run out :).  As I had to fill it after the journey to get a fuel receipt (done so many trips lately, I'd run out of fuel receipts from my stash), it showed the journey was 38.1 mpg, with a mix of gentle* motorway, fast* motorway and Hangar Lane traffic jams.

My rolling average is 32mpg

They were sat on the bridge on the A34 the other morning. Conveniently situated just after a long bend so that by the time you've seen them it's too late. I was on cruise so not a problem for me.  :)

Bangernomics , is an excellent way of motoring £500- £1000 a year to enjoy a vehicle makes extremely good sense.

The FTO has departed. I've somehow ended up with the World's Scruffiest Mk2 Golf GTI instead. Cannot wait to clean the full thing, top to bottom, inside and out. Then make a BIG list of bits it needs.

Come to think of it, I've lost a car and MrsGK has gained one, as the resident VW hoarder...

Saturday it went a for good trek around the Cotswolds (the XE) which was most enjoyable on the windy bits.

Also took it to work on Friday, driving like an old lady it showed 48mpg (it typically over reads by 1-2mpg)

I tried to start my MV6. Battery flat as a pancake, so hooked it up to wife's Astra.
Still no start.
Replaced spark plugs
Still no start.
Gave up and had lunch.
Now having afternoon nap.
