For sale, 18” Omega Sportstars. Call they tyres knackered and if they’re not it’s a bonus.

All need refurbishment, 1 has a dent on the inside rim but tyre still seals.

For the sake of the forum rules - £200 for the set. Buyer collects (although I may be able to deliver for additional)

Willing to consider sensible offers

I'll smash the Merc's window, that'll get you running out...

Wouldn't need to, you'd be on video :y
I'd be the one in the striped pyjamas, and a bag with SWAG on it.

Not a pretty sight :o

But better than not in striped pyjamas  :D

B@stards. Hope you are in luck and it's recovered  :y

Unlikely... It’ll be in a container or parts by now >:(

Bit of a long shot but can people keep an eye out for one of our vans please? VW Transporter in AFF Livery - LJ16 VVN.

STOLEN IN Sheffield and the tracker & dash cam were disconnected within 2 miles (5 minutes or so) of it being nicked.

There is a reward for it’s safe return.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I’m well aware that this is likely in a container or being stripped as we speak but worth a try.

So inverter and batteries is a no go really then ::) :D

Thanks guys... I knows I was missing something but couldn’t work out what ::)
A generator.  :)

Cheers uncle. I knew someone would help :-X ::)

Thanks Kevin.

It’s a 240V, 32A input. 7.2kW draw that will be plugged into the 10kW continuous (30kW peak) inverter.

We only need to run it for 30-45 minutes and, ideally, still have the engine running to trickle the batteries - but this is now not a simple option as they need to be 24V for the feed and the bridge needs to break for charging. I have seen this: https://www.yandina.com/troll2400info.htm as an option...

The generator option is a last resort as doesn’t fit well with the other equipment fitted - plus there’s a H&S issue with the weight and noise of a generator big enough.

All that said, it’s looking a lot like the generator may be the only real option... I was hoping someone was going to come up with a simple solution!

Right guys. I’m after some confirmation how to do this. Some background - I can’t go into too much detail as this is “top secret”!

Looking to fit something that has a 7.2kW draw at 32A. Ideally I want to run this from a 10kW inverter instead of a generator but this needs a 24V input. Firstly, 2 x 100Ah batteries in series provides the 24V feed and should give 3 hours use... Yes?

By my reckoning this is relatively simple but I need someone to confirm - The batteries can be charged individually with split charge relays connected to each battery but the question is does the series link need to be isolated whenever the vehicle is running?

I thought I had this sussed out but have managed to confuse myself over the last few days, possibly because I’ve started overthinking it!

Failing that it looks like I’ll need to come up with another solution...

Any thoughts or advice gratefully received.

« on: 06 October 2019, 14:22:35 »
No idea ..... but how have you let someone put clip on weights on your wheel?  ???

It's not a problem now as none of my wheels have anywhere to clip a weight to, but I always insisted they use stick on weights on the inside of the rim  ::)

It’s the battlebus... He doesn’t love that ;)

I’d be more concerned that it’s a BMW  :-X ::) :D

In all seriousness, I would rather buy a 200k, 7 year old car than a 2000 mile 7 year old car.

If all the servicing is in line then I wouldn’t worry too much... Modern cars are capable of starship mileages :y

What prices are you looking for to be collected as is?

Not really thought. One is a write off anyway, but does have lpg and Irmy stuff the other needs a patch welding in and brakes for an MOT - this one has a stainless exhaust.

Not really in a position to get rid yet as they are useful storage space but a sensible offer would take them, bearing mind scrap value.

The issue is, time is very much in demand at the moment. Not sure whether the effort is worthwhile or if I’d rather just get the space back.  :-X
