Electronically controlled. Varies the temp depending on resistance

If these panels don't have a fan, how can the thermistor check the cabin temperature if not drawing air in?

Thanks.
Not very well - in my experience in my 2003 facelift.

Especially on longer journeys (& with the radio switched on) it is noticeable that the cabin temperature drops as the radio gets warmer and heats up the climate panel above it. :(

So how can you test if the thermistor is working correctly?

I'm sure there is a fault with my panel as I currently have it set for 24c and I'm sure the internal temp is nowhere near that.

Plug it into diagnostics and observe the temperature compared to a thermometor.

So, presumably, that would require Tech2?

While there could be a fault with the climate control panel it is far more likely that your thermostat needs changing or the heater matrix needs flushing or the outside temperature sensor is duff.

For diagnostics I think you need Tech2.

Plenty of heat if I set temp to HI, temp gauge reads at the mid point and outside temp on display was today showing 2c.

This all seems to be about normal.

Looks as though you have already ruled out the things I would have checked.

Time to give MarksDTM a call?
