...

Maybe when the mortgage is paid off..

Mine is, but I still can't get my head around spending as much on my 'new car' as my first house cost ....  ??? ???
It's insane. I reckon you could buy a really decent car for the price of twelve months depreciation on a Q7 or the like.

Someone paid £63000 for my car when new  :o :o :o :o :o so that's £37000 depreciation in 5yrs
Bit like our Omegas, list was around £30k, I never spent £4k on any I owned....

My most expensive Omega was my first one, which cost me £1200.  :)

Everybody seems to lease them these days (including me for one of ours), that said its an unlimited mileage, just add fuel massively discounted scheme......so I would be mad not to
I'm pretty sure that's some kind of special deal, Mark. Unlimited mileage deals are not generally available and would cost a fortune if you asked for a quote.

Oh it is, if I wanted a quote as a layman it would be hugely expensive!

The replacement arrives in two weeks (Velar) and the F-Pace will have circa 27k miles on it (about 8 months old), the day after the new one arrives, I order the replacement  :y

Is that a mgmt. scheme, or just an employee scheme?

That said, her role is definitely not 100% certain in the current climate...

I'm still waiting for the days when JLR bring their mobile app development in house (for car controls) , I could do a commute to JLR land if I was on that kind of scheme.  :)

A friend of mine has one in the US - loves it, wouldn't buy anything other than a Tesla again I suspect. So .. YMMV.

I sat in one and thought it was about par for the course in terms of build quality for a yank car - shoddy, in other words.

At least they appear to have finally got rid of the sticky-back wood effect and chrome knobs that everyone else ditched in the 70's. I'm sure there'll be a green electroluminescent display there somewhere though, despite the fact that most of it seems to have been moved to an upended laptop stuck to the centre console. ;D

Was that recent? Thought that used to be outsourced?

What kind of level do you need to be for lease car, only had fuel perk?

The general build quality is very poor, not well screwed together, very random panel gaps, lots of low quality touchy bits and not well screwed together.

Road manners are not great either, handling is very below par, its crap off road (it is just the road car on steroids) and they do have reliability issues.

The random rear doors are a pain and are known for open/close faults.

Then when you throw in the fact its an Ethernet port for diag, no OBD compliance so Tesla only for code reading and the fact the dealerships are in trouble, that the whole package starts to look massively overpriced and under delivers.

We had one in teardown, the verdict was a lot of tech in a Dacia type build.

Tesla is becoming like Apple, it has followers despite all the problems..........(just like an old Defender  ;D ;D)

You are very astute, Opti. I wouldn't like to face you across the table.
