Daughter is buying a top of range Tesla X with autopilot. Should be interesting to ride in.
Possibly the most disappointing car I have been in given the price tag
Do tell, I can try to dissuade her.
The general build quality is very poor, not well screwed together, very random panel gaps, lots of low quality touchy bits and not well screwed together.
Road manners are not great either, handling is very below par, its crap off road (it is just the road car on steroids) and they do have reliability issues.
The random rear doors are a pain and are known for open/close faults.
Then when you throw in the fact its an Ethernet port for diag, no OBD compliance so Tesla only for code reading and the fact the dealerships are in trouble, that the whole package starts to look massively overpriced and under delivers.
We had one in teardown, the verdict was a lot of tech in a Dacia type build.
Tesla is becoming like Apple, it has followers despite all the problems..........(just like an old Defender
)
