Found the Battlebus, fitted the new rear wiper arm. Discovered the A/C is weak at best.

Mrs TB then got home, first thing she said was her AC (TBE's) isn't working either - that one isn't even pulling in the compressor clutch.

*sigh*

I was planning on easing myself into the list of car jobs (now spring has finally sprung) by washing the Omega today and putting my tools into my new shiny black tool chest.
Instead I got roped into painting the garden fence. My son was supposed to be doing this before going back to Uni, but he painted about 6 feet the other day and then ficked off to spend a few days with his girlfriend to get out of finishing the job.  ::)
Then the cheeky shite tapped me up for £50.  ;D

I've just been to pick the student up from his backgammon in Bradford. He won a side tournament, so made £90 profit on the day. I drove 140 miles, paid for the diesel and, on the way home, the cheeky bastid got a Mac Donald's out of me.  :(
He goes back to uni tomorrow. He's been home for three weeks and today was the third time he actually got dressed  ;D

Changed the handbrake shoes on my Omega , what an utter whore of a job . >:(
The old ones had about 50% lining on them but I thought " nah , let's change them " and as soon as I had released the first retaining spring I knew it was a BIG mistake .
I'll never do that job again.

There is a knack to it, first side was a right b@stard to do. Second time did better, I used a small screw driver to pull spring up if I remember right.

After 3 days of lift share buddy driving, I’ve had enough of BMW M sport suspension, looking forward to driving tomorrow.  8)

Bet the aircon won’t work though.  ;D

You're right Tunnie , the first side was tears and tantrums the second side was easier but still awkward. Fortunately I bought a new fitting kit which allowed me to straighten out and cut one of the original springs which became a great puller to attach the new springs to the shoes. I also found a tie down strap handy for keeping all in place until the springs were attached a great help.
There's little difference between the Omega and my E24 BMW but  the close proximity of the hub on the Omega makes it so much more difficult.
Anyway, I've had a glass of Lagavulin and it all seems a distant and minor memory now. :y

Put £94 of Opti's favourite love juice in it.

Thank goodness for A/C, and chilled seats.

Rubbed down and repainted in matt black the aluminium sunroof surround as more silver was showing than black after a hard winter and the jet wash.

Looks very presentable now  :y

Ignored it while I drove the roller skate to work and the bicycle to the pub. The journey back up the hill has left me smarting a bit. Seems I'm out of condition following the winter. :-[

Oh, and my Omega's air con is fubar too. Not sure I care right now. ;D
