Today, looked at said switch, and am reserving a place in hell for the idiot who designed the whole handle thing.

Stripped handle down, and put it all back together again, as gonna need entire passive entry module for that handle.  Although buggered if I can get the screw back in the trim piece to secure it.  Flattened the battery in the process - well, flattened it enough to get the message on the dash to start the engine.

Mine is 20 years old, everything still works as it should only " repair " in almost 4 years was the rubber cover on the telephone aerial still available from MB cost around £8.00, all bills with car when I purchased it totally original apart from normal service items , only other thing I have had done is an AMG exhaust system put on to enhance the sound of the Ultra reliable  M113 V8.😎

Found it where I left it, so all good :D

I do have half an eye on a set of AMG 17" 5 spokes, but not a pressing necessity... Besides, I would rather get a set of nice 18"s for its older, larger cousin  ;)
