Info please
« on: 06 September 2006, 07:15:45 »

Hi,
I am at last about to start work on my omega (had it since the start of the year  :-[) it's an r reg cdx 2.5..now I have some time at last I can sort things out...trust me being a truck driver away a lot does not give you much free time!..
anyway to the info I need...now I have had time to look at the car..it needs the cam covers doing I now have all the bit's for that job..it also needs a spare wheel ..are they all space savers?
..it also is missing the cam belt cover? looks like it might have been done? everything down there is very clean..but I will renew the cam belt kit!
also between the front seats in the rear there appears to be a switch panal? missing under the rear vents there are 2 plugs so I assume it's not a lighter ?..you might wonder why I did not notice these things before I bought it..the truth being I had 24 hours to decide and I only viewd it at night..but it was silly cheap..so I thought it's worth a go even if I spend a few hundered on it..my wife also loved it (so I had no option ;D)...anyway time is now on my side so the work starts...(my share of continental work is over for a few weeks  :)) so if anyone has any answers to my questions I would be very greatfull!

Cheers Gord.

Ps I got quoted £20/25 for a spare alloy standard cdx with a half decent tyre the only problem is getting it off the car as they don't have the tool to remove the centre plate!...

The two plugs at the rear could be for heated rear seats switches?

Not sure why it would be 2 plugs, but on my CDX there is a cigar lighter underneath the rear seat vents.

I think you should have a green block and grey block or green block and yellow block cant remember 100% these are for the rear seat switches, and there should be the connector for the centre lighter

This is similar to what I have in mine minus the fancy lights.

Yep spot on there is a black and a green plug (seats I assume) and the connections for the lighter..do all cdx's have heated rear seats ?? or is the loom standard on all omegas?

Cheers Gord.

PS Does anyone know where I can get a timing belt cover from? mine is missing..all the scrappys around here only seem to have 2 litre or diesel omegas in.

Only Elites have heated seats as standard, though a few CDX do seem to have the option.

I believe the loom is standard up to the point of the switches, but wiring to actual seats missing if not fitted...

This seems to be the case only I was fortunate to get all the looms/connectors/relays when I fitted my seats.

Mine has a steel wheel as spare, not a space saver.

From what I remember, a 16" alloy to match the car does not fit in the spare wheel space, whcih is why there is usually a 15" steel wheel for a spare. Not a space saver by todays standards, but slightly smaller none the less.
