Should I buy a Tech2 or OBD CAN scanner?
« on: 28 September 2006, 22:41:17 »

I'm thinking of buying a Tech2 interface with R232 cable & software for £45 - does anyone know if I can get one cheaper.  Alternative is a OBD CAN code reader/reset for about £30 but not sure if codes will mean much to you guys when faults appear.  Any thoughts?? ::)

'Tech2' has flakey software (part of it is in Hungarian), but sort of works. You'll need a laptop with proper serial port, not rs232/USB convertor. Don't think you'll get it for less then £45, seems to be the going price for it.

As for CAN BUS, post the link (eBay?) to the exact item, maybe someone else will be able to help.
