Can someone please help me and let me know how much the road tax will be on my 2001 Omega CD 2.6?

I haven't picked it up yet so don't have the paperwork yet.

My 2001 2.6 was £160 (12 months) last year, it's due next month, not sure how much it will be now...

Yep, it just went up, that's why i only bought six months at £96.25, and cos i'm Scottish.

It sounded like such a stupid question when i wrote it but with the new tax laws on the CO2 emissions etc. and I couldn't find listed anywhere what the CO2 emissions were for this Omega.

I'm reliably informed its on the new log book but that doesn't help when I haven't got it yet.

Anyway, thanks for the help, and Kev i'm not Scottish but 6 months will do me for now too!!

I'm not 100% sure but i think that the new mega high rates are only applied to new registered cars, so we should be ok for a while anyway.

well a 2.6 would be €999 approx £672
and a 3l will be a whoping €1343 approx £903 per year
but for that we get a first class road network, wait no we dont we get dirt tracks... ah yes, its the state of the art motorway network interlinking one side of dublin to the other, wait no thats tolled, thats it, i rember now it actualy goes towards providing clean drinking water. great if you drink water and dont drive.

All uk cars registered before 2001 over 1600cc pay the same level of road fund license - loads , but not as much as Mr Des!

First point - I thought you couldn't marry more than one wife anyway?  

Second point - even if you could, why would you want to?  

Third point - let's say you had to, £190 for 12mths sounds like a cracking deal to me - they are usually much much more expensive.

Its also based on age mate.... pre 2001 cars are not affect by emmisons.

Hence my 2000 X plate 2.2 megga costs 175 a year to tax, my dads 2.2 megga on a 2001 Y plate is 190 a year to tax....

Hi, you must remember that the nice people at the DVLA will let you tax your car on line now, so you don't have to stand in a queue at the post office, but be warned they charge you £2 for the privlege! So not only do they not have to pay commision to Post Office Counters, but they get extra money off you as well. I hope they don't do me any more favours, I can't afford it!

Same as mine £190   , tho i think i can get a fiver (or is it a tenner) off (tho prolly wont bother just the sake of a fiver/tenner)

Only way to get a lpg conversion recognised by the dvla is have it done at a Government approved installer. Also the only way to get London congestion charge exempt as well.

You must see a considerable saving in just fuel alone though. Is it really worth the extra for the install to save some on tax?  :-/

TBH i dont know if government approved installers charge more.....suspect they probably do tho.....i didnt investigate that option as when i had my meega done these tax rules didnt exist.....only the conjestion charging did....and i decided that it wasnt worth it.....for me anyway.

Not sure why, but my 2001 CD 2.6 was £104.50 for 6 months! I think it just comes into the newer pricing structure.
