Rover K Series help
« on: 02 October 2006, 18:14:06 »

Anyone know where the diagnostics socket is on Rover 25 - buggered if I can find it!

Is it possible to flash the codes out as per older Omegas, or is it code readers only?

Is it OBDII compliant?

TIA

Cheers AA, found the connector.  Its on a loose bit of loom, and tucked up behind centre console...

Anyone know if its OBDII complaint, and if so, which variant?

Its a 2000/W reg

Ironic that I have received more help in 30mins here on a model specific Vauxhall site than I did on a big Rover forum....

I waited ages for a reply on there as well (2 days!) there are too many sub forums and they're definately not a happy little band of brothers like us.

She was driving along the other day, and it cut out. Can't get much more info from her, ie did she have foot on throttle when it originally cut out, were any lights on dash etc.

She reckons it seems down on power, but seems OK to me, but I don't drive it that often.

I'm thinking ICV, but was concerned if onset of sensor failure, esp as she has to go up and down motorway...

Hmmmm probably do need more as your aware Jamie, typical women huh!!!

There fairly simple to work on and not complex compared to our v6`s.

Did it start ok afterwards and did it re ocurr?

It has not reoccurred, revs freely to redline.  However, I took it out for a good thrashing earlier, and pulled in a gateway and switched off. It took 3 attempts to start (I purposely kept foot off throttle)...

My J-reg 214 did exactly that.  Turned out the king lead had rotted in the coil b/c faces up just behind headlight.  Never found it until it dropped to 2hp and had to walk.
