Omega General Help / Re: My V6 dont like less than a quarter tank
« on: 25 September 2013, 21:16:35 »
Evening,  got home from work to find my new crank shaft sensor awaiting. Gets the trusty tool kit out, locates the sensor on the car, matched the part numbers up and all good, takes the sensor out to find the tiniest bit of rusty fragment stuck to the end of the sensor, the piece must have measured about 1mm by 1mm  ???  so removed it, cleaned up the sensor put it back in and hey presto. She is running like a new car, idles like a purring kitten, starts instantly on turn of the key.

Now my understanding of the sensor is its just a magnet, so im now in the belief that this tiny fragment of metal stuck to the tip of the sensor has been giving false readings and causing my headache. Any info would be appreciated.  :y

New sensor on its way, hopefully once I follow the guide and get it fitted then issues should be resolved. Fingers crossed. Can somebody point me in the direction of the fitting guide.  :)

Crank Shaft Sensor, just done the pedal thingy and code 0335 flashed, that's the only code that came up aswell. How much to fix and where is the best place to get a new sensor.

I would like to drop my omega 40mm all round, whats the best and cheapest kit available. Would like to do struts and springs as my current struts are looking a bit tired. I will eventually be fitting 19s but that will be in the new year as I have my wedding in 2 weeks and xmas in 3 month and I don't think my kids would like a piece of coal instead of presents. yea I know its a bit selfish of the kids.  ::)

Right, on my way home from work and while on a single track road I pulled over to let an oncoming car passed, while I was in the passing place the car instantly just cut out. the fuel was sitting just at the top of the red and after turning her over a good few times she started and run as normal.

Any ideas guys.

Cheers

Shaun

So far all is good, ive also got her booked in for new timing kit which will put my mind at rest as shes on 81k. Think I need to take out the police lights before I get in trouble though as I have a habit of scaring the life out of the local boy racers  ;D
