Part number help
« on: 30 August 2015, 22:20:28 »

I need one of these vacuum connectors as mine has a slight crack, Are they available at VX if so do they have a part number or are they readily available somewhere else? I've had a look but can't find anything.

Are we looking at the bagpipe connector to/from the vacuum switch? I am not clear which connector you seek.

As in the picture..

Inside the highlight circle the rubber vacuum piece, Not sure what its proper name is hence why I thought it best to add a picture. It doesn't seem to be affecting performance but it's on its last legs.

EPC isn't very clear on this sort of thing. It could/might possibly be 90572322. If they're still available they'll probably be in a pack of 50, cost £1 each, and the dealer will try to make you buy the whole pack. If you want to take the risk fair enough, but I suspect most of us would be down the scrap yard for a good look-see, and get the most suitable part from there.

These rubber elbows are used in Carltons and perish for a past time - causing all sorts of issues. The ones I got were off the ends of the vacuum advance pipes for old proper Austin Minis. A good motor factors should stock the sort of thing.

There's no definitive answer here as far as I can see though.

If I at least knew if it was a 3.0mm or 3.5mm etc.. That would be helpful  :y

Ordered a few different types/sizes and found this one to be best, It fits like a glove and appears to be of decent quality with plenty of flex.  :y
