Any good?

Looks good, but accessibility will be key to its usefulness. :-\
I still use a chain strap wrench. :y

On the Merc, it's a plastic cap on the oil filter, don't want to damage it.

The tool you showed is for metal spin-on filters.
If the plastic cap doesn't have a hex for a socket on it, you need to buy the specific tool that clamps the entire cap. These are readily available from all the usual tool suppliers or Ebay, singly or in sets.

Merc often need a special tool (or big slip joint pliers....)

https://www.toolstoday.co.uk/sealey-oil-filter-cap-wrench-o74-5mm-x-14-flutes-mercedes?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvqOyiOmO2wIVgbHtCh0llQKyEAQYAiABEgLHWPD_BwE

Just the job, I used big slip joint pliers, but they did mark the cap.

Oh to be retired.

My engine bay looks a proper mess. How the hell does dirt make it all the way up there. I know I live in a dusty area, but bloody hell :o

If you'd got a decent car, like a Merc you'd find it didn't get very dirty to start with :D
