Had the Omega in for test today which it promptly failed,threw me a bit of a curve as it failed on emissions and not something mechanical or rusty.It's apparently the lambda readings which are slightly too high.Readings were;
Fast idle test
CO 0.04%
HC 21ppm
Lambda 1.05[should be 0.97-1.03]
Second fast idle test
CO 0.00%
HC 4ppm
Lambda 1.05[should be 0.97-1.03]
Natural idle test
CO 0.00%
Car was taken for 20 mile blatt down local motorway prior to these readings,no EML or other lights on dash to indicate a fault.Thinking a change of plugs and some injector cleaner in the tank or am I wide of the mark?Any other ideas people?

Cataclean and Shell V-Power worked for me: as well as a drive in TB mode! ;D

Fresh air filter might also be of benefit :y

Or no air filter at all during the test. ;)
Got mine booked in for next Tuesday. Only thing Im aware of needing to do is replace the eml bulb and clear the code before the test.
-
Ok fresh air filter not a problem-I'll do that at same time as plug change. Is injector cleaner the same thing/do the same job as cataclean? If not is cataclean what you ask for at the factors?

Wynns fuel and injector cleaner plus top the tank up with Shell V power :y

Any small exhaust leak will mess with the Lambda reading, may be a small enough blow not to fail the test :y

Yep, and given the rest of the results this is where my money would be, in addition to checking the plugs. There's a bit of hc in the exhaust so any sign of a misfire?
I don't think additives are going to help.
-
No sign of a misfire as far as I can tell, tickover is smooth and even as is acceleration and it holds 70mph[honest your honour]with no hesitation. Will check exhaust carefully for any sign of a leak although nothing was noted on the test.
