Title: Part number or at least a name

Hi guys, I'm without my Omega this week due to rust repair - replacement of both rear panels.
I'm searching for part number or at least a name of the black piece of protection that is glued on the body panel and 
is hidden when the door is shut. It follows the rear arch line from cill covers toward the lock on the panel.
Curently searcing for a pic of it :-\

Can't help with the part number but it is possible to buy a similar style self adhesive sheet that you can cut as required (use the old strip as a template if possible)

You can safely peel each off from the rear arch, clean it up and re-stick it. (same for all vauxhalls when the rear arches end up being replaced, it's often a pain to try and find them)

I can say you can becaise I did it, literally a couple of weeks ago! So if you can, seriously get to the bodyshop, peel them off (carefully) and stick them back on in your own time when the metal/paintwork is finished.

Yes indeed - that one isnt able to be realistically re-installed, so I'll be using fablon/stickybacked plastic for it. Managed to save enough to make a template for it, soon as I have will let you know how I got on, and will post up here if you like  :).

When I did some paintwork on the wheelarch on an estate a good few years ago, I removed the black strip by warming it up gently with a hot air gun, and carefully peeling it off. When the job was done, I reattached it using automotive spray adhesive, generally for car carpets and trim, but it worked a treat and it wasn't obvious it had been removed and reapplied. It is reasonably well protected from external elements, and it was still looking good when I subsequently sold the car.

Well I got my Omega back two days ago and picked up both strips from old wheel arches. They have rust all over
their  sticky surface so I can't reuse them. I will find another way.... But now she's like new....I'm glad I had rust professionaly sorted out....It wasn't that expensive too, I paid 320€ for hands + both panels I bought.

Mine had rust on them too. Alcohol, white spirit, surgical spirits (what I used) will dissolve the glue, and bring off the rust with it. It was painstaking, took time, but given it's something I expect I'll be doing only once every 22 years or so, a couple of hours seemed a fair investment  :D

I think I used an old credit card as a scraper, washing up sponge, the usual stuff you'd use to get glue off something. If new stickers are not available, then it can be done  :)
