Let me know your thaughts chaps.....many thanks. It is a proper mv6, manual gearbox, all the carbon fibre, climate and some dude before me pimped out the windows so i can now do "drive by" style shootings in comfort.lol.Baught it from a vauxhall dealership who took it part exchange,12 months mot 6 months tax,£300 quid spent to pass the mot for me,(new battery, something to do with the stearing etc) and away we go.All in i paid £1300.

Nice... Looks very similar to mine, same colour and wheels etc., although certainly cleaner at this time  ;D

I hope it's a proper MV6 with a manual gearbox 8-)

I don't know about party tricks, although it's very easy to get it sideways and control it -- much moreso than the Omega, because the throttle is much smoother and the engine more torquey. Saying that I often end up sideways in the Omega when I don't want to be due to seriously crap tyres, although I've just replaced the rears with Michelin Pilots today so hopefully that should be sorted :).

Here's a sneaky peak of the 840Ci... this is the view most people get, it will (allegedly) do 173 MPH flat out ::)

Oh and it's the 6-speed manual gearbox version, very sought after as there are apparently only 57 RHD models in the world! I had to travel 400 miles and back to get it, but even then I think I was quite fortunate to have found such a good one. 8-)

Those pilots should be good, bet they wernt cheep..................

Just had my radio decoded for my omega today, lucky i tried the code before i left as it was wrong, the computer missed it by one digit apparentley...........so he said never happened before on a crr 600 vauxhall unit....."yeh right"..........lol.

Only downside of Pilots is they are too hard. And after a year of so, they tend to 'glaze' a little.

Cheers, I do love driving the car and the attention it gets. I'm not sure it's quite up to the standard of gumball though rubbing with spanking new 911 GT3 RSs and Ferrari F430s etc  :D

As for the tyres, not cheap but cheap equates to deadly IMO. The ones I just replaced still had around 3-4mm tread left so would have lasted a few more thousand miles before "needing" replaced. I was just sick of getting the car sideways coming off roundabouts etc, when I didn't want to be sliding around! I've just driven back from my folks' house 70 miles away and have coming out of bends I've been deliberately pushing it well past the point of sliding on the old tyres, but with these it just pushes out of the bend no problem, I feel like I'd have to drop the clutch and get the revs right up to get the tail out.

Funnily enough the old tyres were called "Fortuna Sport 2000".... yeah "sport" in the same way that an automatic gearbox has a sport button, marketing 'dangle berries' ;D

I've never heard of the manufacturer before (and it figures), but if anyone comes across them avoid like the plague... I've no doubt they're uber cheap, but I think it's only down to good "fortuna" that I didn't end up in a hedge with them ;)

I prefer a harder tyre for my "workhorse" car, as it does a fair bit of motorway muching and softer tyres wear too fast. I've went through my fair share of soft tyres, such as Eagle F1s, Bridgestone S-03s, Toyo Proxes T1-Rs etc... and they're great tyres on the B-roads but can be easily worn out in 6,000 miles :o

I had Pilot Sports on my 540i and was impressed with them as reasonably hard wearing for a daily driver, yet still plenty of grip in both wet and dry. Hence the Omega tyre choice. I don't expect them to last over a year so no worries about them glazing :)

No sadly it doesnt, just the normal seats. Just put in 40psi all round and its made the world of difference to the handling, plus a new airfilter, again with massive improvements on performance. I see your near you may see me around in mold.

40 PSI seems a bit high! Depends on the tyres but I find somewhere around 36 usually gives a nice balance of tyre stiffness and grip (contact patch size).

Yes i alway thaught it was high, but ive owned 2 cars now were the manufacture quote high pressures. ........A Integra type-r (40psi all round)and the xsara vts(39psi all round). All high pressures.......It does feel good, more sprightly and light. Its certainly improved my handling by about 40%.

Interesting... it probably does improve the feel and handling, at least on good surfaces, but ultimately may also reduce grip as the profile of the contact patch is changed. The science of getting the best compromises with tyres is mega complex, so I guess what feels subjectively best for you is the pressure to go with. Just keep an eye on the wear pattern, assuming your geometry is well set up it can tell you a lot about the effect of your pressure on the contact patch, and also to an extent your driving style  :D

Most of all though, have fun! I think in the manual 3.0 MV6 we share the most satisfying model, in terms of driving dynamics, of the Omega range (with the possible exception of the uber-rare manual 3.2 MV6) :y

Is that right????  I know mine are only 16's but sit at 30psi - 36 under full load.

The normal seats are still nice though mate.

I didn't notice that you're from Mold. I live in Connah's Quay, although I spend most my time in Ellesmere Port at my girlfriends house.
