Hmm.... just over 3/4 of a vauxhall omega? ;D

Don't forget if it wasn't taxed at source.(.approx. 20p loss :o )..you will need to declare it on your tax return.
I assume that includes the statutory interest of 8% also .?
Nice "LITLE" New Year bonus ah :y

It must have cost 100 times that to sort it out!

Decision made, one 1st class stamp, and save the rest for a rainy day.

I have just sent my PPI claim off.
Every company that contacted me wanted 51% with VAT added
This lot want 20% all in
Or..... that's all I can see in the small print

Stupidity incarnate...
Claim directly with the lender(s) involved. You pay ZERO commission. NADA. NIL. ZIP.
Any uncertainty with changes of lender, ie Santander have acquired most of the store card/New Day business, then go via the government checker site... The one plugged by Arnie as this gives all the contact info for all lenders including historical ones.
All done on line and the lenders will be in touch in due course ;)
Failing that, send me all your gubbins and I will process it for 10% ;D

In my case, to tell me they had "no record of that account" (despite me having the original bills still..). I gave up. Life is too short.

Funny story.
I have only had one non mortgage loan, took it out back in 1997ish with Lombard Tricity Finance, £6k to add to the £6k my Cavalier was worth on a trade in for £12k of Vectra SRi.
Borrowed, done dusted and paid off in 2 years.
Roll on to about 5 years ago I found the paperwork and it identified PPI, as the scamming companies at the time want a large chunk of what you get and I thought it was only a few hundred pounds, plus LTF no longer exist I didn't bother.
October last year where someone mentioned banks are refusing 3rd party applications and have made it easier to claim direct, I went on the FCA website, found LTF listed which took me to RBS, filled in their 'did I have PPI form' (I've since lost the original paperwork), they came back with I did have PPI and if I wanted to complain fill in the form, which I did.
27th December got a message saying decision made letter in post, I expected nothing.
Letter arrived Saturday, they had upheld my complaint, after taking the 20% tax on the interest, the PPI payback, compensation and interest on my £6k loan payout is more than twice the original loan amount!
Don't ask me how that works, but it does!! :D
Either way go direct don't go through a third party, just follow the FCA website links its a piece of cake

I got fed up with the PPI nonsense & agreed to let a company act on my behalf , got one cheque for 3p & one for 4p from MBNA, needless to say they took no commission for their hard work.😀😁😂 I have had very few loans & expected nothing but have 7p to spend on my next holiday !

Even nicer when you've never been conned into taking any out.
